Why do people want to play the new story without giving care to the old story. It's all continuation. You're not going to get it by skipping all of it and jumping in near the end.

If it were something for alts, then maybe, but otherwise i just don't get it.

And even so, people seem to forget how much of an absolute grind it is leveling to the new cap. Remember HW leveling? Do a quest chain, get maybe 50-60% of the way to the next level, then grind out the next 2 levels with dungeons/fates to pick up the next part in the chain, then grind out two more levels until you finally reach the cap. The many many patches of MSQ tacked onto the end of expansions eases you in a bit, and nudges your gear up to par for the next level of difficulty.

I remember reaching level 50 and being ilvl 45. If i had started in HW and wanted to immediately jump into the new content/story, my gear would have been nowhere near acceptable to start questing, as the HW quests were tuned to maybe i90-i100, a fresh 50 would have been absolutely destroyed, but thanks to the MSQ, you get some extra experience, and you nudge your ilvl up to par along the way.

What they CAN do to ease the journey to max level is to drastically increase the rate of experience gain (at least to the point where you're not constantly scrambling to grind out a few levels to reach the next part), and add suitable gear rewards to the older MSQ to aid in catching up.
