Same ####, differernt skin.
Patches get boring after 2 weeks once you complete the new content and the its back to weekly tome caps.

That seems less like a fear and more like a rational expectation.
I mean honestly, what do you expect them to do? All our content is streamlined, we have no major weaknesses/defenses in regards of elements or monster types to consider, all challenges are delegated to instanced duties, and the overworld has no danger at all. This is the future we choose.
The game can be fun and exciting without having elemental weaknesses and non-instanced content. It's just being executed badly right now. What's annoying is that there is absolutely no form of random instant gratification, not even a little. No random chance at getting good loot. You queue up, you grind, you get your tomes/parts/whatever, and you turn them in for the loot after you have enough, everything is delayed and slow. There's nothing random to keep things spicy. You can plan out your entire week in the game, what you'll do, and the rate at which you will gain tomes. You get everything you need as long as you keep doing the same thing every day. That seems less like a fear and more like a rational expectation.

There's nothing exciting about gearing up anymore.

I think instant gratification would just magnify the issue. If we get what we need/want faster, we'll run out of content faster. The game can be fun and exciting without having elemental weaknesses and non-instanced content. But I do understand what you mean. With so little variety or surprises, the game can get dull.
I feel the solution rests in how progression is handled at its core. As it is, we're basically railroaded through all the same content at all the same positions. There's little room for proper strategy, experimentation, or alternate methods of progression.

How she got 37 likes is beyond me. One, we're talking expansion and not a patch. It's basically a new game. Peeps are still heavily involved with HW, or not even there yet. Two, leave the game if this is the attitude. She's not doing anyone any favors sticking around. The last thing I want to think my guildmate is thinking when running content I am new to is: "This again...sheeesh!"
The grind is all about the chase. Do people really want stuff handed to them? The grind existed long before FF MMOs. You do crap over and over and over and over again until you can do the sh*t in your sleep. You want something? You will grind. To claim it "mine"; you have no choice, but to put in the time.
I agree with Ryu. Do something other than kill sh*t will ya. There is a community and an economy than benefit greatly from your contributions. You might want to think about that Genaxx.

This is a thread to discuss fears about the coming expansion. Why are you attacking someone else about their personal fears for the game? >.>How she got 37 likes is beyond me. One, HW was an expansion, was that a new game? Many disagree.
Two, at what point did I say I want stuff handed to me? If anything I want the game to be harder because its faceroll easy.
Three, I like grinds. What I don't like is reapeating the same thing for months and having my progress halted constantly because the developers lack the innovation to create meaningful and lasting content.
Oh and you should also take a look at my profile, I do pretty much all content. If anything I do battle content the least because it's incredibly repetitive.
Don't make assumptions about someone you don't know, it makes you look like an ass. You might want to think about that.

I am trying to figure out why you are attacking people. This game has had the same patternHow she got 37 likes is beyond me. One, we're talking expansion and not a patch. It's basically a new game. from over 3 years. The expansion of HW, was basically ARR in a different paint of coat.
No one's asking for stuff to be handed out, but more variety to shake the system a bit.
Not sure why you're being aggressive. I for one, am tired of predicting what's coming next in 6 months.
I already knew how 3.4 was going to play out in 3.1/3.2/3.3.
For over a year I knew how this current patch was going to be. It's the same exact treadmill under new paint.
