I'm baffled at how when they portray a different aspect of monks some people delude themselves into thinking it's something completely different, like dancer. It's like some people have never ever in their lives watched any kind of media portraying shaolin MONKS. I bet some haven't even seen nor remember the mentions of monks chanting mantras in the Hildy quests. Ala Mhigo's monk culture isn't just about pummeling things to death.

I admit, when I started watching the trailer for the first time, with no prior info, the first moments indeed seemed like she was a dancer because of the outfit and the graceful moves all over the place, but later things started becoming more clear. But other people still haven't cooled their heads off enough to realize what's going on in that scene and that she's another monk.

while you're absolutely right on this, at the same time final fantasy is all very strict with class themes. while it COULD be that we're getting some soft style monk moves, or even a variant monk type, it's equally reasonable to see "flowing, graceful moves" and think dancer, especially with the costume and sash too.
basically: it's too early to make an educated assumption, so just get hype for whatever it ends up being. i'm hoping for dancer, but it'll be ok if not

i want to point out, like on another thread, that the featherfoot skill was show as one of the reassement skill of the monk. i can see a few skill of the monk that need reassement, if i had to give example it will be:

- haymaker, it's a rest of the V1 that have no real actual use in our tools

Maybe OP's post is a bit unpleasant, but he has a valid point.

The problem is that people will spread misinformation. I already read (in game and forums) how dancer was confirmed. They're stating their speculations as if they are facts.

Lot's of people watched the stream, but even more didn't. For them it's easy to accept these "speculations" as facts. I rather have a happy community than a disappointed one.

On a side note: her "dancing" looks an awful lot like when you switch stances on MNK. Also her fighting leads me to believe she's a MNK.

Then again only if I am right, the team can now see that people really want to play DCN. You never know how big of an inluence that can be. I hope the community gets it at some point in 4.0...

As stated before, this was not said at all. YoshiP only verified the guy in the trailer was the Warrior of Light and that this expansion would focus on monk in the same way last expansion focused dragoons.

Second actually analyze the trailer also Yoshi said its a pice of the full trailer and wow theres a thing called cross class abilities and in the shirt we got she does an animation thats not from monk so yea oh also you know her using her cowl and the daggers attached to them to fight you know something you obviously missed and a few other things in her motion that clearly shows dancer. but hey you wanna tell ppl to shut it because your tuired of hearing it least your not one of those who swears its Yda at least but still you are no fun also ppl thinking the devs wont lie to them at the FIRST FAN FEST :lol: you guyz

I just want to add that there will be 10 more lvl's with the expansion and most likely new skills along with it. So those animations could just be something we haven't seen yet for the Monk at lvl 61-70.

All in all: No one is right or wrong untill SE officially tell us what is what.

61-70 means at best 5 skill and trait.... not enough for add a weapon or a whole move set. why you ask? because they can't do this much only for one jobs. ff14 will have between 14 and 16 jobs with the expansion. then make something this extrem for only one jobs will be badly seen.

people think that with the expansion and the up of level we will see big change into the jobs.... but look at HW, even if the skill are cool, it didn't break what we had soo far. when the lady in red is simply going against everything we know with the monk.

like said we have 2 school of monk know. and both use the same move set than us. and why show a girl in red use different moveset in the same spare than the WoL that use the monk one? if that was a new moveset of the monk....why is not the WoL that use it? because the WoL is a monk, why him fighting style don't match up the red lady?
