Is mayonnaise an instrument?
- Bombs/Grenades
- Crossbows
- Katana
- Quarterstaves
- Rapiers
- Rifles
- Throwing Weapons
- Something that was not listed
- Serious/Practical Weapons
- Elegant Weapons (though I largely consider reasonable, simple, functional utility of design as elegance)
I'd also like for there to be more of a difference in how weapons function, preferably eventually even within the same general weapon type (e.g. a claw should not work like a pata, which should not work like a cestus, etc.). But that's a pipedream for another day.
I'd like to see more diverse effects of a job equipping similar types of weapons. For instance, a Warrior could equip both axes and warhammers. But, hammers would have a different effect on abilities than axes. Hammers could grant defensive bonuses on your abilities, while axes have an increase in DPS instead. Or if a Machinist uses a short-barreled gun, their cooldowns are shorter, compared to a Machinist who uses a long rifle of some sort could have an increase in DPS. Maybe a Black Mage who uses a wand has an increase in Thundercloud procs vs. a staff that might increase the length of Enochain.
But sticking to the topic, I'd like to see Whips potentially on a Blue Mage or Beastmaster job.
Whips! I'd also like to see fans. Those are my favorite weird weapons. And adding to the above, Grieves for monks. For better kicking. It could replace shoulder tackle with jump kick. That's like the signature monk move.

5. Gunblades & I want more Elegant Weapons Added at 41 each
I'va always wanted a caster that doesn't use a weapon or whose weapons are bracelets/rings, so the whole spellcasting is body and hand movements. Also rapiers and whips. Musical instruments like tamborines would be fun for a dancer, maybe.
Put me down for whips, gunblades (quick side note: love the MCH knifelocks. More please!), and definitely want a hammer tank.
Tonfas and Handcannons
