Why do Prototype chest pieces still take 4 weeks to obtain?.

It was worse back in the coil days. I remember my group got 9 dragoon chests in t...whatever it was. Never saw the healer chest in t4. On t6 IIRC all we got was tank drops every single time... Healer drops were extremely rare for my group.

edit: worse because there were no books to save up for gear

8 weeks of raiding. That is how long it took before I got my first coil drop... Yeah, I was close to rage quitting the game several times during that period...

When I first started raiding back in the binding coil days, I was going through it the first time as a dragoon and every first clear of those turns dropped gear for me. Nobody else at the time was a dragoon either so I lucked out lol

normally i just binge on the bolts, and 2 piece items whilst using tomes for the bigger body/legs, this id just to get ilevel up though, with less of a concern for min/maxing. I do this because i play so many jobs and try to keep their i level at least somewhat recent.
First time in gordias i beat my head over trying to get shafts, but i realized i could actually get 2 or 3 jobs gloves, or something else by the time i got one pants or body piece without grinding But again this is someone who lots on the first usuable piece in 24 mans because ive grown sick of grinding for a specific piece that gets outdated in a week or two.

Urm it doesn't take 4 weeks, it takes 2.

A11 and A12 drop springs each so if you roll smartly you can have the chest in 2 weeks.

Well, you might need 4 weeks for a body part.
BUT in this 4 weeks you can not only get a body gear, you can also get a leg gear, a belt gear, a boot gear and 4 accesoires.

With script gear + maybe 1+2 crafted that's about 12 or more gear pieces in 4 weeks.. without savage drops in mind. And that's to slow? Omg.

I usually never bother with chest pieces for this reason, and since my main classes are both healers I never really need to bother when the tomestome piece is available in two weeks anyway. Unfortunately I'm forcing myself into it this time around, because I need that caster coat in my life.

I wish they'd made the raid version dyeable, I would have actually tried Savage for it... it's one of my favourite body pieces in the game so far.

yeah that coat is amazing for casters, i just bite the bullet cause a12 isnt worth 40 runs just for 1 shaft imo
