Square Enix needs to think of the average and general player when designing their boss fights. Hardware is important but if people can run the game at a good speed they should be able to do raids. They need to ether:
A: Upgrade their server>client systems
B: Give us more time to avoid AoEs
I guess it's sad that I'm getting used to this sort of lag in FFXIV.
I'm not even interested in doing a fight such as ifrit at this stage, because when what you see on your screen doesn't even remotely match what the server is reading there's not really much fun to be had![]()
Are you kidding me?
His computer is not lagging, he is not lagging, infact you even see him get out of the circle completely fine and still gets hit
This is just typical SE, it does it all the time because it registered you in the circle. There is no proper "Evasion" in this game, everything is just a list of calculations. The animation pops, it then lists whos in the circles, and then proceeds to do finish animation and damage, by that time you could of run back to friggen Uldah, wouldnt have mattered because you were in the attack list and you get hit.
It happens on every single mob, there are countless videos of the orge's AOE hitting people who ran so far away.
If it was PC lag you'd be seeing Lag, but you're not, you are seeing connection lag, which is typical for SE game.
Happened in XI for years.
I watch people who have 590's and i7's and still get hit. Because unless you're very very quick to beat the connection speed, its already too late.
While you might have technical knowledge, I find it hard to believe you have completed a level 50 encounter on a rank 46 alchemist.Technical knowledge is one of the things i got enough of thank you. Why would i lie? Just so idiots would say stuff like this?the animation lag comes because it takes more of your computer than it got. The latency will almost never come in instances. Or do you lag in toto-rak to maybe?
If you answered with, "I know a lot about technology" then followed that with, "He needs a better computer." You are an idiot.
Also, animation lag or lock has nothing to do with the computer's performance. This lock part is referring to when you use a skill or an ability and you're character becomes immobile for several seconds. During a fight where it's tactic is to move, move, and MOVE! This is a flaw in the battle system that stifles the player's progression at times to best the chaotic terrain. Of course, the way to combat this is wait for Ifrit's Eruption, move out of the way, come back THEN do your weapon skills and abilities, but that is a tactic around poor mechanics... which is not what players find super rewarding.
If the client was having some lag issues due to the lack of computer performance this would not halt the character or sap it's movements putting them into the plume. In fact, if you're running and you get hit with a large FPS drop the client eventually catches up to speed and puts you in the place that you would be as you were running during the lock up of the client. What this video shows is the character stepping out of the danger zone and the server registering him in the danger zone.
My Ifrit group have phenomenal systems, but that isn't the issue. We all get hit with environmental explosions and Ifrit dashes while our client (meaning what we see on the screen) has been moved out of harms way. It's actually a pretty huge issue. One that has been brought up several times before this patch and nothing has been done.

i had this same issue when doing the Level 46 story quest.
SPOILERALERT!
The damn Garlean Mech got me three times with it's cannon even though i'd moved well out of firing range when it fired on me, ended up having to just not try and fight at all, and just keep running until it had taken out all the soldiers behind me.
Give us regional servers please, this issue will never be solved if someone is playing on a JP server.
Im sure people will whine up that they like to player on a international server but the problems are fairly clear, yes I know Japanese players suffer similar problems but they are just making a situation 10 times worse for overseas players.

Your idea just cut ties with friends all over the world. You just broke up linkshells that have been established since FFXI release, and you just stopped pretty much the whole of europe from having any chance of playing (being as there are like 9 of us ingame).
Please return to WoW, all your posts so far seem to want this game to be it.
Seriously get off my tits .. lolGood lord no.

Im allowed an opinion too !! and yes it would cut and sever ties but if you are happy to suffer from 1-3 secs lag then fine by me (play on a US or JP server), personally I think its a game killer, most of my LS are from America, Im from Europe so I know what I'm asking for, but we can all make new friends, its only a video game.
There is nothing to stop SE giving the option to play on local servers and international ones, many MMO's do this now.
