    Yes and no. Some instant heals should aim to let the healer do their job while moving, or allowing them to chain two skills (a cast skill + instant) for some burst. Stuff like Benediction is supposed to be for "oh shit!" moments, otherwise it wouldn't be designed with every aspect of an emergency big heal.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    The combat of this game puts me to sleep.
    And it´s a shame because every single other aspect of it is probably the best choice over any other MMO.

    Graphics, story, music, events and amazing bosses can all be found in FFXIV
    But god is the combat archaic and sluggish....

    I don't think FFXIV is the superior game, but I like both Legion and FFXIV. Both have major drawbacks in different ways and both are quite the same.

    I gave a like on the OP because I personally believe FFXIV could benefit from having an increased speed to the Basic Attack Damage(White Damage). The CD/OCD usage can stay the same to match the FF ATB gauge feeling. Just increasing the Basic attacks would feel a lot better. Even as a combat class you are standing around a lot, Ninja does not feel as fast a a Rogue from WoW. Ninja is suppose to be the fastest job and it feels slow because of the wait on the basic attacks.

    Class fantasy reworks would be nice to FFXIV too, BLM doesn't feel as cool as playing a Mage in WoW anymore. Mage in WoW after the class fantasy reworks, really makes you feel like a powerful lore Hero like Khadgar or Jaina. BLM needs this same treatment, don't make as feel like another cog in the machine, make BLM feel POWERFUL! You go on BLM or any class you should feel like you're seriously like the story written characters!

    Hehe, I really love those class fantasy changes XD. It would be so epic in FFXIV!

    For as hard as 1.0 failed I think it did some stuff right, if used a different engine and spent more time in development I think 1.0 could of survived would it been a huge success like 2.0 most likely not but think it would of did ok. But I don't think they going to change the battle system again cause it works for them and SE doesn't seem to like to shake things up.

    Not that it can't be used as such, it's just that it failing had become such a bane to me that I started using it in other scenarios verses saving it, particularly healing my tank to full so I can keep from dropping cleric.

    However, this is simply my playstyle as a WHM, and one reason why I am so attatched to Noct AST. Aspected Benefic and Essential Dignity are actually instant, and far more reliable. Even if WHM is stronger in the potency department all around (and unquestionably superior at level 50), AST's snappier heals fit me better.

    In pvp, "situation where you would legit need it" tends to be extremely frequent. It failing due to this is a huge problem with the ability. It would be a much better ability if it was just Lustrate or Essential Dignity.

    The ability is entirely designed with the long cooldown and the potency to be used at lower HP than those two abilities, but the delay makes that impractical, and so it's generally just inferior to those abilities.

    They're going to have to make some revision to combat in 4.0/5.0/etc because we're limited with the amount of abilities on our hotbars. They'll need to consider ways we can intuitively use more skills without needing them on our bars.

    Isn't wow and FFXIV just tab target tho? The animations in wow don't matter cause the damage isn't from the animations, it's from numbers being counted or whatever. The animation is simply there for looks. It's a dice roll. As far as I know FFXIV is abit different but still uses tab targeting. So wouldn't you have to change THAT before anything else?     go play monk have loads of fun using positionals and OGCDs along with lower GCD
