I would like to know where my character is from. From the opening cutscenes, I gather that I am not from Eorzea.

Been thinking this myself since day 1, would be nice to know where our chars came from.
@ OP, I actually greatly dislike how our chars are just mute 99% of the time and our greatest ability is 'The nod of Light' because damn, all we do is nod. I was glad to see we got at least a few options for 'dialogue' in Heavensward, but rather upset when, for example, I chose the '...' option when talking to Alphi about Estinien and he still got super hype over saving him; meanwhile all I could do was stare at the screen and go 'that is NOT what he said!' /shrug
Having our characters voiced would be amazing and I'd personally love that, though I can't say I see it happening. At least having a few more options for dialogue would be nice; it's rather strange to be the 'legend' everyone talks about and yet you can't do / say anything other than 'Yes sir! I'll continue being everyone's delivery boy, risk my life, barely eat, possibly not sleep, get maybe 5 minutes for myself when anyone even some teenage kid decides it, and tend to everyone's problems because saying no isn't an option~! \o/' (though I get the msq won't progress if we say no but you know...)

By far my favorite response. I got a kick out of selecting "..." only to get a "HELL YEAH WOOP GREAT RESPONSE" from the npcs. Someone said it'll take a lot of time and money to add a system where npcs ACTUALLY respond to your choice realistically (or have a conversation with a npc using said choices. Like, for example, if you DO say no, there'd be an extra dialog the npcs go through trying to convince you or something. /sigh), and it makes me think that a lot of content is pushed out before it's actually developed properly (example: 3.4 MSQ WoD....).@ OP, I actually greatly dislike how our chars are just mute 99% of the time and our greatest ability is 'The nod of Light' because damn, all we do is nod. Woah there friendo
Let's calm it down

LOL That honestly felt so awkward for me; my character isn't actually a guy of many words for sure but when he's against something you'd know; I guess even no response ( '...' ) passes for a YES LET'S DO THIS I AM SUPPORTING YOU IN THIS!! /facepalmBy far my favorite response. Yeah, it might be like that; though I honestly enjoy to see the responses npcs give in RPGs when they expect the MC to agree and you say the opposite, the responses are usually hilarious, though they don't let you progress if you don't select the right one, at least you get to see something different for a second.
Someone also had mentioned retainers and that actually got me thinking, our retainers *do* have more personality than our characters; would be nice if we could get some sort of option on CC for our own characters as we do retainers, so that they can at least have 'some' personality (probably a lot of work again with the dialogues and such but, one can dream)
