RMT chat restrictions limited to tells?

Really I haven't gotten a single RMT tell and I've played a couple of hours (2 to 3) every evening since the patch went live. I have however received tells from some of my apartment neighbors.

So working as intended?

Reminder that the volume of RMT tells is dependent on your server population, lower pop servers are open for new creations more often than higher pop servers, so they are hit relentlessly by RMT.

I havn't goten any tells since patch which has been great but RMT are a virus and viruses have a way of adapting. I just hope it stays like this.

It's definitely been quieter and that is appreciated. Gets annoying though when there's that one that keeps getting through, as in reporting the same one 3 times in 10 minutes... All in all, great implementation and I'm hoping the playerbase is using it since it seems like they have put it on us to do something about it.

Does your server have a lot of players? I wonder if larger population servers get more RMT bots running around.

Couerl is medium/medium-low pop.

I still haven't seen any reduction in RMT tells.

Hyperion - Been online for 12-14 hours at a time, some of that AFK, but I have seen 2 tells since patch day. Compared to before the patch, if I went afk for that same length of time, my tell tab would be full of RMT spam. Happy with this change and I can actually use my tell tab again.

Thing is, we don't know the exact logic RMT go through to send tells, so odds are people who end up being the first ones sent tells will think nothing is being changed as they are reporting them, but those who are on the other end or maybe even middle will notice a change because they aren't getting tells.

If you aren't noticing a change, then it's potential you are just unlucky to be one of the first few people RMT send tells to before they are reported but if you were to ask other people on your server if they were getting less RMT tells, odds are they would say yes, but you would need to be very picky about who you ask.

Ask a person of each job, ask a person who idles in specific idle heavy areas and then ask people with first name A, Last name A, first name M, last name M and then First name Z and last name Z. It's possible you will hear the M's getting less tells but it might very between the A and Z.

I had a couple /tells from bots when I'm in the Mists but I usually see the /say in Limsa Lower Docks near the MBs

My main character's first name starts with an M and her last name starts with a U. I get tells no matter where I am - both in a city and out in an open zone.
