Game is up sometimes for a month at a time with barely any downtime. Maintenance is to be expected after a large patch, comes with the genre really.
Exactly, that was on June.Maintenance June 8 for Crafter/Gatherer (Expected)

I'll never understand the entitlement some people feel they deserve when there's a small interruption in up-time. Say the game is $15 a month and there are 720 hours in a month. The game was offline for an additional 3 hours after initial downtime for patch implementation. We'll work that out to, hm, 30 hours as an estimate. Someone mentioned Blizzard offering compensation for server downtime. Okay. So the current downtime worked out to 4% of the month, which downtime of this nature happens MAYBE once every 3-4 months. That would equal out to about 60 cents or something along those lines. Does someone need me to mail that to them?

Welcome to the wonderful world of gamers. It's worth noting that most people don't respond this way towards anything else besides games for some reason.I'll never understand the entitlement some people feel they deserve when there's a small interruption in up-time. OP is soooo exaggerating. The game was only down for like 3hrs total. The game doesn't always go down. Where were you through the entirety of every Patch where there's no maintenance? It's only 3hrs.. you won't die lol.
Our schedules leave 54 whole hours of "free time" per month which doesn't even count things we have to do around the house. Not all of us have 720-756 hours to game. I understand that many of us have hectic schedules. How anyone with a schedule like ours can game, I have no idea. We play MAYBE 4 days a month and we STILL pay without demanding money back or anything (so much for yet another "entitlement" rant). So if we take out, hm, 31 out of "54" hours to game, now we have 23. If every night when we sit down to game and the servers are having random maintenance then that leaves us, hm, none. Our server was down for 31 hours (wish some people would read) during the ONLY time we've been able to play. I know it's hard but can you please just try to imagine how irritating it is for a game to not have a regular maintenance schedule as well as the ability to implement hotfixes without taking the servers out for another 7-31 hours a week?
I'm way existential.

I still don't get why people get so butthurt over a slight criticism with an offer of solutions to solve this issue. Every other MMO has a set maintenance schedule and if they need to do a hotfix they generally restart the servers and implement whatever change they need to after changing the code and testing it in a sandbox. I have never seen any MMO with this much random maintenance. And again, SQ asks us to give suggestions. Sooo. -shrug-
I understand that sometimes the game just goes down and it can't be helped. What's annoying is when you pay for a game and there's so much random maintenance that you can't play. This happened to me last year so I dropped my sub bc I couldn't play on SQ's schedule and don't even get me started on the fact that if you dare drop your sub for too long you lose your housing. So can't drop my sub. >.> <.< >.>
I'm way existential.
