I have a question, can you train the members of your squadron separately?
Is there any point beyond XP for the training? How do you train your squads?
You train Strength and it lowers Mental and Tactical.
You train Mental and it lowers Strength and Tactical.
You train Tactical and it lowers Strength and Mental.
After completing a set of 3. Your stats are basically neutral.
At this point I am beginning to think I should just use the no stat bonus option (bottom left) and just take the XP only.
If you read the status message, the specific limits on these attributes increase as the squadron levels up.Is there any point beyond XP for the training? How do you train your squads?

Furthermore as these attributes impact the success of missions it sure doesn't hurt to increase them as high as you can.
At first the limit is 200/200, as you get higher this will increase, thus you can train them better. I'm not sure if setting say Health and strength higher has an impact on stat increases as the character lvls up yet. Have to test that out at some point haha.
Anyway, my first recruit was a Miqoute female that had the message "I want to serve under someone that knows how to balance time and plays with me" I have to admit.. I had to blink twice for that sentence haha.
I just got him right now from entering into three chocobo races. Now if all of my recruits could look like him, I'd be a happy lieutenant. I am having trouble kicking people out, though. As soon as they walk through the door I feel already attached and responsible for them. I don't want them to be sad, I don't want to ruin dreams!
*takes this squadron business way too seriously*
No.
From what I've gathered trying the system...Is there any point beyond XP for the training? How do you train your squads?

You have a pool of points, this is what changes with the various trainings, and all your recruits have their stats.
When you do a mission, the stats of the recruits you send are added to the pool of points to determine how the mission goes.
You can adjust those pool points to shift around your focus, and perhaps make up for a weakness in your squadron...
Perhaps you've had horrile luck and only have the base tank character and need more physical stats for the missino you want to do.
You can train up the pool points to be focused on physical, and thus meet the mission requirements even though your recruits are lacking in that stat.
Well, the first two times, I got actual increases. Starting the third time, it began that pattern of just shifting the points around rather than adding any. Unfortunately, it doesn't take into consideration whether the recruits I'm training were even in the squad yet during those first two training sessions, so now my newer ones can't get any stat boosts. Is there any point beyond XP for the training? And still no clue as to how to reset it so I can get another chance at useful training.
Or, or, at training you sacrifice 2 stats and boost 1 to max and then train that 2 stats until it equal each other.
