The part in bold was the point I was arguing against and I think it was fairly obvious as well. The part in bold is wrong.
As for a source, it was in the Live Letter immediately following TGS last year. Yoshi responded to a question about it and said there are no plans for a VR version of the game. I'm not about to go and spend an hour looking for it though.
As I said before, a VR version of the game as a direct port would not be at all feasible due to way VR effectively requires double the processing power. If a VR version of FFXIV were to happen they would have to rebuild a lot of stuff from the ground up to ensure it could run at 60FPS per eye (in other words the hardware would have to be capable of running the game at near 120FPS normally). There is absolutely zero chance of that ever happening just to add a gimmicky build of the game that only a fraction of the playerbase would have access to. It would be a monumental waste of money to do.
