Sorry but I wouldn't buy from crafters anyway. I know levelling crafting is a real ball-ache (that in itself is its own issue and needs to be addressed) but crafted gear is severely overpriced. No way, no how.
Oh damn. A smart person. What are you doing on Genral Discussion? Move to the lore forum. All the motivation I need is helping that miqote girlplus it seems like a fun minni game also people wory to mutual h about gear and having the best everything its a game people don't over think it if you get the gear great if not meh there's other ways of getting end game gear it's not the end of the world
That's got nothing to do with the correction I was making.
1. Guy says people shouldn't complain that it's rng because there's very little effort involved.
2. Person 2 misses the point and says "effort =/= rng". Misses the point because the effort talked about is the work done to get the rng chances to win.
People are complaining it's RNG is like people in real life complaining the lotto is RNG when the only effort involved is going to the store and getting a $5 ticket. Of course with that little effort you can't be guaranteed a big payoff; that's the whole point of a lotto.
Not all of us have nothing else going on in their lives to dedicate a bunch of time to complete wastes of time like this. I'm sure seeing that miqote girl will definitely remain a really good motivation after the first time - because man those polygons really get me going! All the motivation I need is helping that miqote girlplus it seems like a fun minni game also people wory to mutual h about gear and having the best everything its a game people don't over think it if you get the gear great if not meh there's other ways of getting end game gear it's not the end of the world
And you think it'd be a good thing to flood the market with 1 of these for every character on a server every week? That's kind of insane. And would give a massive boost to people like me with multiple characters. Much as I'd love 4 of these things a week, I couldn't realistically think that'd be good.Even with that logic though, T9, EX Primals, etc. are on there so I don't really understand what would be the massive harm in letting everyone have 1 piece of 250 crafted a week for completing the whole thing. I know people think they're SE devs and "they have to make us suffer through the gear grind so we don't unsub" but maybe making the game fun would be a good idea instead. Maybe that would keep people from not really caring about playing it after a month or less.
Sorry if you're actually agreeing or whatever, this isn't really directed at you, I'm just really steaming that something I thought was an actual good addition to the game turns out to be RNG hell. Yet again.
e: Turns out, you actually think this is a good thing, and will probably do this worthless piece of content so lmao
This is a good addition to the game, not because everyone will win every week. If that were the case it'd be terrible; just take a look at how much coffin lid is worth now for proof of that.
A gear that is being handed out basically for free shouldn't be guaranteed.
I am fine with that.
Yes. You get a completely random piece of loot, could be something you already have, could be something you can't equip, etc. You then sell it on the MB to then buy what you actually want. This would make crafted gear readily available to everyone, at least one piece a week, and would lower the overall market to more affordable prices. Currently its a system of 'the rich get richer', which is a consequence of having a completely free market where people will hike up the prices due to low supply but high demand. This would've been a decent fix, at least for this market, and would've been (*gasp*) fun and rewarding.
Instead, it's a waste of time. Literally there is no point in doing it. You have a chance to have completely given up minutes to hours of time to do content you've already done before for no reward at all. And the rewards you do get (Lore/Scripture), if you even get those, can be gotten just by spending that same amount of time on actual stuff like EX dungeons or Alex Normal or whatever. It's pointless. It's a complete gamble, and the gamble is "will I completely waste my time or will I get a piece of low end gear?".
I do not see the point of it. At all. Literally 0. Like, I am baffled people can manage to defend it. Everyone's truly become deluded and will stomach anything SE throws at them. I've lost all hope - like, I thought PotD was going to be good and they gave us this Trash Killing Simulator 2016. I thought Diadem was going to be good but then they gave us Dinosaur Island Hell Ride For Free Max Gear. At least Diadem and Hunts gave us meaningful rewards, even if it was overpowered - this is just like... playing the Jumbo Cactpot once a week except it actually takes a bunch of time out of your life.
e: Gonna stop posting in this thread now because I know where it's going to lead and I'd rather not get banned. So just assume my response to anything that's in favor of this content is "I disagree". Take care. o/

WTF you are talking about?People are complaining it's RNG is like people in real life complaining the lotto is RNG when the only effort involved is going to the store and getting a $5 ticket. Of course with that little effort you can't be guaranteed a big payoff; that's the whole point of a lotto.
If i win in lotto i can play FFXIV for more than 10 years FREE...
NOTHING they can give us to equally this rarity!
Trading Card games and any other collectability things are rare because you can SELL them, but all we get is TRASH (glamour).
Do you even play any serious MMO? You should have noticed ALL of them using a net to catch those unlucky players who always roll bad on RNG, hell it is tradition!
Did you ever play a D&D boardgame? You should know then how combat with a dice is calculated and how stats can backup bad rolls, some games even use event cards to catch unlucky players!
Nah I like to be the voice of reason in a sea of irrational complaining mmos have always used rng mechanics in there games it's a way to keep people comeing back there's actualy a science behind I Rembert watching a documentary about rng in games on g4tv back in the day it was pretty interesting you should check it out
The entitlement here is off the charts. I've been playing MMO's since they were text-based. D&D and Palladium rpgs before that. You'd have to have a terrible GM to just hand out the best stuff available just because you showed up.WTF you are talking about?
