Wish they did more for Nocturnal Sect to make it competitive with Diurnal but otherwise loving the changes. Bole being a tank CD for 30 seconds is huge, means it doesn't feel like a dead draw any longer.

I wish they made the job more interesting and unique... I probably will never pick up an AST unless they rework the job completely.
Im really resenting having to drop WHM now for AST that I dont like just to find a static for 3.4
Unless you're going for the absolute min/max comp (and even then, we have no idea how next raid tier will pan out), it's absolutely not necessary. WHM still will be more than fine.
That being said, having options never hurt anyone.
I think all sets of healers work well now
Ast (diurnal) + sch has the highest dps output.
Even before the changes the heal component of Ast vs whm are very close
Whm+ Ast (noct) works well, higher consistent heals possible. Shielding will be acceptable.
Whm+ sch as before
WHM is a really powerful healer and extremely wanted for Savage groups, and these changes won't change that. I do hope they might balance the numbers of WHM and AST as main healers though (currently 152 AST kills for A8S vs 893 WHM kills on logs).
Except noct AST still won't be competitive against SCH who are wanted in raid groups mainly for their DPS capabilities.
Bole is still useless. No Tank will map his cooldowns with taking in mind he can or can not get a non reliable mitigation cooldown.
Useless ? You can make the mitigation skyrocket on a tank or on the group
It's so much heal you don't have to do and so much DPS you can squeeze before heal
Did some testing w/ AST noct barrier numbers. It feels more like a nerf than a buff. I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy w/ the numbers, but it kept going lower than the normal amount. I compared between A. Helios 120% and 150% like a random number like 1,649. 120% gives 1,374 and 150% gives 1,099. A. Benefic's random number like 2,722. 150% gives 1,814 and 170% gives 1,601.
Late in the party cause I getting used to the job, but that's 1 of the things that made me question about it, but I could be wrong on this so any help is appreciated.
Your math is off since it's literally impossible for the numbers to be lower than it is now, especially since Nocturnal Sect now buffs healing by 10% instead of 5%.Did some testing w/ AST noct barrier numbers. Also you shouldn't be looking at the amount you heal, which can vary since you never heal for the exact same amount every time. What you want to look at is the POTENCY. Thankfully, someone else in this thread already did the math. You shouldn't need two different people to write the same set of math to know it's a buff.
TL;DR: Use Potency for comparison, not in-game numbers.Potency change:
Nocturnal Aspected Benefic
Before 3.4: Healing potency 262,5 (250 base + 5% N.sect), Barrier potency 341,25 (130%)
After 3.4: Healing potency 275 (250 base + 10% N.sect), Barrier potency 467,5 (170%)
Difference: Heal +12,5 potency, Barrier +126,25 potency
Nocturnal Aspected Helios
Before 3.4: Healing potency 157,5 (150 base + 5% N.sect), Barrier potency 189 (120%)
After 3.4: Healing potency 165 (150 base + 10% N.sect), Barrier potency 247,5 (150%)
Difference: Heal +7,5 potency, Barrier +58,5 potency
