It's this level of terrible decision-making that I just don't understand. Are they entirely unaware of the multitude of examples of painless, streamlined systems in other games? I don't understand why they back themselves into coding corners and then pretend like they can't do anything to improve it because the first iteration of their failed system cannot be altered. They can ALWAYS take it out and replace it with something else.
