As a BRD/MCH main, sometimes I just wish people would quit whinnying about the cast bars.
That mobility is virtually useful for nothing... Just be grateful we don't have Lay Lines.

I feel for jobs the cast bar makes them more complex then they have to be- like even for MCH to get the most DPS u have to know when to turn off GB - most players will jsut leave GB on -myself included. MCH's mechanics are ammo / procs and turrets And BRD is procs and DOTs- just leave it like that- KISS mention keep it simple stupid.

I still like it. I've always liked it.
I'll keep saying it; just because you can move around doesn't mean you should be moving around.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME

I'm used to Wanderer's Minuet and Gauss Barrel making you stand still but I have to agree. For two classes that sort of specialized in mobility, it sucks that in order to have good DPS, you have to have those toggles on. And one sliiiight movement will stop the cast. I really do not like that.
I hope SE considers removing those skills.

Here's my question; have you level 60 bards and machinists consistently done worse than casters in level 60 content since the addition of a half-second cast bar? Are you taking more damage while causing less?
Coming from the background of almost exclusively playing mage jobs, I always found the complaints toward WM and GB silly. It's not anywhere near as restricted as what any mage deals with to simply play the game, and isn't as complicated as Enochian or Aetherial Attunement is.
This skill is just "you need to stand still for a millisecond and you'll hit way harder."

Would you be okay with obtaining mobility back including taking back the damage boost WM gave and possibly better party support to make up for what you might lack? I always felt it was the way it was introduced. To sing an enhancement to your arrow or to stay longer to get a better shot, then again maybe now it makes no difference. They took a class that specialized in mobility, and forced it to stand still. If people wanted to stand still, they have BLM, and SMN. You cant take a class that people have picked, and have played for fifty levels, and change up the formula on them so drastically. It's not even the fact that people dont want to adapt, its that people picked a class and put large amounts of time into it, and suddenly its something entirely different that they didn't choose, and may not even like.
Same, I use my SMN just fine. Now I will admit I do not do savage so maybe these are where the complaints are coming from? I did take BRD to 60 to see how it was, played in a few trials and such. I noticed I moved a lot prior to WM because I could, not because I had to. I will admit missing bloodletter proc was annoying. That would be my only complaint. I switched back to SMN because, I feel I do good support there with a properly timed Virus or E4E
Someone mentioned this on another thread about this. This sounds like a decent mid-way point. If you interrupt your aim by having to move it still fires just at lesser damage, but more than it would without WM on.

MCH and BRD are still the most mobile classes in the game. The cast times are shorter than GCD now after they patched, so there's about 1 second between shots that you can actually re-position without losing DPS, unlike casters. For those who don't know, they implemented the cast bar for BRD and MCH because in 2.x, BRD could handle all the mechanics without losing DPS while melee would lose DPS doing mechanics. This gave BRDs a huge advantage in many fights. Hell in certain fights, BRD was the mechanic-b*tch in that they were forced to handle any generic mechanic in 50 dungeons because they could without DPS loss. To make players take mechanics more seriously, they castrated some of BRD's mobility. It's still more mobile than casters and melees, but they can't just run circles around mobs while jumping and loling through mechanics and still do solid DPS like before.

I guess the people complaining just want to run around like a headless chicken during a battle for some reason. Most of the time you stand still anyway so I don't see what the problem is.
How about we just make it a charged shot? So the longer you hold the shot (basting bar) the more powerful the attack (up to a point). So a hasty shot does a fraction of the damage, but a full draw (on a bow for example) produces a more powerful shot.
