Wow Zetsumei WOW. I'm going to be brief and polite as possible.
What would you do differently or what do you want from ffxiv?
FFXIV has continued to expand on way more than just Ilvl gear and the next dungeon or raid. While there's a formula and timeline on how things are released it's things like fenrir and adamantoise being able to now fly that go a long way. Seriously what MMO isn't constantly replacing gear with better gear? I think this game does a great job in the even patches and odd patches system. Gear and even crafted items or 2.0 pvp gear or relics were hard to get at first, but made more accessable later. It's a good system.
Anyways I just don't agree with what your saying with
"where you can accurately predict almost everything that is going to be added in a content patch months or even years before the patch is even implemented"
and finally "I don't think people should be expecting the game to change much at all from what it currently is. "
I mean look at how the game has changed from 2.0 to 3.3
Crafting and gathering was deeply expanded upon. There's way more depth and progression to gathering and crafting than before.
Pvp, quality of life, gold saucer, mentors, holidays, animations and emotes, beast tribe revisions which leads me to mention the complete change to how materia is handled. Treasure maps and the Aquapolis, Orchestrian stuff and housing. There hasn't always been big fishing or notorious monsters or hunts.
It's the little things that go a long way too. I feel like every aspect of the game is always considered to be improved upon. Like waymarks and them showing up on the mini map. Fates showing the % complete. Clicking on a npc or mining node auto dismounts you. THE ABILITY TO TELEPORT WHILE MOUNTED. These things make me feel like everything is cared about and the devs are trying to make the best possible game.
