Oh god... 1-50 in a day?
Another proof that SE devs many times dont think till the end.

This is my favorite thread, ever. Thanks for trolling everyone, and proving a very valid point.yes... this is a stupid idea. that was the point.
right now you can essentially get powerleveled to 50 in a day.
that is a problem
I was hoping i would get a bunch of ppl to rage against the idea, devs would notice, and they'd patch the game (since they seem to completely ignore the powerleveling threads)
see: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...e.-Not-Broken.
Everyone in here raged against the 1-50 button idea, and I bet 70% of those same people turned around and posted "keep PLing!!!1" in the PL complaint threads. Way to go ya hypocrites. I hope SE rolls back all of your exp.
Well it certainly worked. You got the attention.yes... this is a stupid idea. that was the point.

Sort of a trollish way to go about it... but if it gets the message across that the PL'ing rate is pretty freaking stupid, then that's what counts.
I doubt even Yoshi expected this... regardless of what he's saying. If he does come out and say "yeah I know and I'm fine with it"...?
Then all I could say is, he's out of touch and apparently not a student of what happens in other MMOs when their population becomes too top-heavy... due to the attrition of age, or out-of-control PL'ing, and it's gonna come back to bite him in the ass.
As for those enthusiastically supporting it as a good thing? Well, I'll try to keep track of those names now, just so I can see how many come back later to complain how they're at level cap, there's not enough content and they're quitting.
And anyway... I know Yoshi made that statement in support of PL'ing in the Q&A...
But didn't he previous state that the felt 3 months is a good amount of time to reach 50?
.... Mixed message much?

We all tried to argue our way into convincing others that PLing was broken. Obviously that didn't work.
Here's hoping a bit of trolling worked.
And isn't this the same team that nerfed the Leve exploit a few months back?Well it certainly worked. You got the attention.

The bottom line is that PLing is an exploit (granted, it was dev team approved - and we called that this would happen before the patch) that is being taken advantage of. Just like with the GL exploit there are people who are all for it, because they want to take the easy route to 50 (as if there was anything at the end of that tunnel). These people don't care about balance, or the economy of the game. They don't care about whether or not crafters have any reason to make them gear. They just want everything NOW.
I've been playing this game for a year. I played at my own pace (roughly 5-10 hours a week when active). I got my first Level 50 last night in a grind party (not a PL party). I will say that I had a lot of fun on this long road that I chose to take. Leveling from 1-50 is possible without shortcuts, and the focus should be on making that leveling experience a good one, by providing content for everyone along the way (the new Lv15 dungeon is a good step in that direction, but the PLing issue undermines the inclusion of that content at all) - not letting people skip that part of the game all together.
I think that the response to this thread proves our point.
In the words of wiseman
Leveling is the epitome of an mmorpg.
this is about the most ridiculous idea i have seen posted in a long time and thats sayin something considering whats floating around at the moment
Wow, why are people raging on the OP? Goodness! Aren't we all adults here? Can't we do this debating thing civilly....really...
Anywho, if they made this game fun to play, make the leveling feel less grindy, this wouldn't be an issue. I know I have said this over and over as an example, but look at Dragon Age Origins...FUN! And I know it's not an online game, but I think MMO's in general could take notice of what they did to the regular consule game and some how add it to MMO's...then people wouldn't be huffing and puffing over insta-level in a day or year after year grind...just a thought!

So you assert something that you have no way of knowing, nor proving... Yet assume it to be true, and proceed to call people hypocrites anyway...This is my favorite thread, ever. Thanks for trolling everyone, and proving a very valid point.

Weeee quick on jumping the gun there...
