It'd be practically unobtainable to large amount of players as plenty of people won't stick to same game for decade or two.

Well they are called veteran rewards after all... rewards for people who have been playing for extended periods of time... It makes even more sense to me that the newer outfits should be more desired since the person has remainined subscribed longer and longer... so get even better rewards for their continued service... It's also not like any item so far (and hopefully in the future!) is game changing either.

I don't speak Japanese so I'll have to take your word on that, but that English translation to me still doesn't really make a lot of sense. The last what? Last thing we're telling you about now? Last one we have designed at this point in time? Or last one ever as suggested? (just throwing out possibilities!). Don't really understand the 14th reward in less than 1440 days, but I read that as maybe supposed to be saying they didn't make the reward in time and they'll have it released by 3.4 (pretty sure that's not the first time a veteran reward was release late and backdated).

Hopefully we'll get an official translation of what was intended at some point!

I wouldn't mind them stopping with the veteran special rewards and maybe just start giving out Gold or Silver Chocobo feathers after that. So it's still a bonus, but nothing they need to put extra development into.

It is fair. It rewards players who were there supporting the game from the beginning of ARR. You know, veterans.

What confuses me is that 1.x players dont look down on the players that followed, but since ARR there are "veterans" who just feel like they have to look down on others because they are new players...
When did it change to that mentality? Why is it only good when no other can get it?

Do you even understand the purpose of "veteran rewards" in industry?
It is not meant for "veterans only" but to lure more players to play the game and bind them for a longer period of time.
No one will stay seeing vetaran rewards of 3 years and longer! (no joke, just ask around)

Following your argumentation, only those who played since day one will get each 3 months a new gift ... if thats what SE tells the players, do you think new players will stay playing?!

I recall they opted out of adding Cloud's motorcycle for the reasons that ground mounts move so slowly that it looked weird and they are against adding any new mounts that don't fly.

Which is unfortunate. Other than the shoopuf from FFX, I can't really think of anything else that could get added as a throwback mount besides that motorcycle, since every game uses chocobos.

I am not sure whats so bad about veteran rewards? Anyone can get them if they play long enough, everyone has the same chance and its not limited..And if someone joins in three years and its known that the game only will last another year or so than it shouldn't be much of a concern that they would not get all rewards since the game would not exist anymore..

I like the system. I was really happy to get the Nanamo minion as a reward or the behemoth mount. All the latest ones are only costume..so if someone only plays because he wants that costume they would probably not stay long enough anyway. And if you enjoy the game than sooner or later you will get to it.

@Yukiko: How exactly are we looking down on new players? They have the same chance as us to get them..its not like they get more expensive as times goes on (like 720 days for it first and later you need double the time..) or are only available if you started at a certain date. Yes they are there to keep people playing..but I am quite sure that there is only a small minority that only starts a game or keep playing it to get a certain costume. And at least those rewards don't cost us more money..but maybe we should but them all in the mog station . So newer players can buy them if they have the money. Or even better, have no rewards at all .

I find this system 100% better than all those minions that people will never get because they were limited...these are the ones that are bad for any new player, since they would never get them..thats way more worse than any veteran reward can be.

In the end, would I be against a system were you will get some tokens which you could trade in for prices of your choice? No! But they also should make sure that not everything can be bought after 3 months of playing.

Personally, I think these items should be implemented as achievement rewards rather than veteran rewards. I respect the idea of gifting players who have stuck around, but why not gift the players who play? Hell, do as others have suggested and give chocobo feathers to subscribers after a certain amount of subscription days purchased periodically. But stop making these amazing items gated behind a set and harsh timeframe. Just my two cents.
