Useful Titles

Dragons nest (it's been a while since I played that game) has this implemented perfectly. It has two selections in its title menu, the first selection is the title everyone see's and the second selection is your battle stats title which will bestow upon your characters title bonuses. It's a nice system cause people would wear the title they want people to see but upon character examination others would see your battle title and its corresponding stats.

I think this fixes people's "need" to have a title they like as opposed to everyone wearing the same title because of bonuses.

I would like a system like this implemented because it was a big incentive for me to do things in that MMO whereas here I have turned off my title HUD option because I see no use for it...it's just extra screen clutter for me.

Yes, titles are only for vanity. The problem is that a lot of content doesn't offer anything but vanity.

And that's why people don't bother doing them. The good part of this system is that once you gain the bonus, it's never loses its value, unlike any gear you gained 6 months earlier.

I agree, as long as SE does not try to be too creative when it comes to stats. I do appreciate it when SE does something cool but with stats it's a terrible balance.

An example of this is 1.0 healer artifact boots. Increases regen potency. That stat alone destroyed SE's efforts in creating higher tier gear because WHM's opted to use the crappy regen boots over endgame gear cause better regen makes a healers life easy sauce.

That's why effects on stats would be very scarce. We can have tons of effects without touching any stats.

How many people would play Lords Of Verminion if achieving the highest rank allows you to summon one minion to fight by your side like your chocobo ?
Since minion can't be used in Dungeons, it won't affect any serious party composition.

You will be surprised to hear that we already got that for one title! I dont know the english name but its the one you get for 30 minions that "follow you around" (it has mini-minifilia as symbol) - equip that title and even minions that wont normally react to emotes due to their charactaristic will do now!

It's "Mammeteer." I just got it the other day with the new Rising minions!

As for the subject of titles, I wouldn't say no to them doing more side-stuff. The minion one already does!
