Here’s an idea to make some content more appealing.
I’m not really talking about dungeons and raids since gear reward is already an incentive…even if it can be a bit clumsy.
I’m talking about mounts, minions, Gold Saucer activities, etc…
What if you could equip titles to get some bonuses ? The inspiration for it comes from FFXI (Yes, I know it’s taboo) and more precisely, from Abyssea (Even taboo-er), with the Atma system. Atmas were Key Items you gained by killing some Notorious Monsters or doing quests that offered some passive bonuses to your character, and you could equip three of them at the same time.
For example, you take the time to breed your chocobo and spent a lot of time in chocobo racing. If you managed to reach the top rank, you gain a title that increases mount movement speed by 100%
What if, by earning the highest Triple Triad achievement, you’d gained a title that increases the amount of GSP you gain by trading cards tenfold ?
I’m pretty sure a lot of people would find those interesting and unique rewards, and ones that don’t really touch the balance between jobs, gear, or even the importance of other content.
Of course, you could also have titles boosting your stats in all of them, as long as those titles are really the goal you want to reach. For example, titles gained for leveling jobs, completing a relic or clearing raids wouldn’t give any bonus.
