I honestly hope this is thoroughly looked into and changed. I was really looking forward to more interesting jobs and unique stats(with all the ideas that WE the community have brought up about them) I don't see why they have to make things even more boring than they are now. As you said @Istaru, I can't play most other MMOs and FF is my home even if I harp on the game but I know if another FFMMO is released I will most definitely move on.
Instead of waiting for people to test out the raids and provide feedbacks and wait for data to see how the raids are doing, why not SE actually do the raids themselves first and make that adjustment beforehand. Like A3s, I love the fight but latency can cause passing digi a problem plus RNG, what could make digi mechanic better is +.5 seconds more to levitate the strict mechanic. The same with the add and tornado phrase. Have the adds move just slightly slower and have just slightly less HP to levitate the RNG and strict mechanic. The fights doesn't have to be nerf to the ground. Just very slightly reduce in some key areas to help with RNG, latency, slightly less dps groups.
I only have two jobs at 60, BLM and PLD. PLD is obviously not overly complicated at 60, but I completely quit playing the BLM after getting it to 60 because the rotation is just a cluster of badly designed buff watching. The job went from being fun, if a little too easy, to being just completely unfun and unnecessarily difficult. If they can strike a good balance and bring it back down closer to where it was actually fun to play then I'm all for it. I also have a member in my FC that wasn't too happy that the BRD went from being a mobile ranged class to basically being turreted. That said, I also have a NIN in mid-50s which I've also played briefly at level 60 in PotD, and that job doesn't seem as bad with the 3.0 changes.
So in my opinion, if they can walk back some of the negative changes to the overall feel of some of the jobs, without going so far as to make them brain dead easy, then I'll be pretty happy. I'd personally prefer the challenge to come from watching the fight and reacting than unnecessary plate spinning in the form of buffs.
Yeah, except no classes are fun in this game, because they are all the same.Yoshida stated they're going back to the basics. Simple doesn't mean boring. If you played ARR for 2 years and found the classes fun, I'm SURE you will like 4.0 jobs.
We already have the players skill gap between players and if we add stat builds to that, i think the hurdle will be too high, so we don't have intentions to add any factors to widen the gapOh! My! God! How can one be such an idiot&! It has been month since every second post on this forum screams, that the gap is too small! That everything is too easy! Every single suggestion starts with "add different stats, horizontal progression ffs, where is exclusivity"!To make sure it doesn't get over complicated and to keep the gap between top players as small as possible
Arghhh!!!
I actually welcome an easier alex, it is about time that we had midcore content within the game the gap between casual and hardcore is huge. Now once they have sorted midcore endgame then it would make sense to start on hardcore content. As it stands for people atm it's either too easy, too hard or grind like a biatch.
I would rather progressive content where each fight is more difficult than the last. At present you go from baby bosses to oh wtf was that. Which is why they should of kept the normal hard and extreme for primals with each mode providing the gear needed to challenge the next tier.

Absolutely yes here. While I don't agree with a story mode in general, as long as the midcore and hardcore aspect of raiding is still intact, then it would be fine overall. Seriously, what did the developers expect when the only two raid modes are a hold my hand mode and Savage? Difficulty curve too high? Well no duh. Finally, they should consider reverting to the Second Coil of Bahamut format with the current Normal mode being turned into a Story Mode. The initial patch would have Story + Normal with normal being a similar difficulty to the Coils or maybe even a little easier if the Coil contents clear rates were too low for SE. The midway patch should contain Savage so you can still have this highly tuned content for players that want it with rewards of the same-ilvl dyed gear, a mount, and titles. Right now the midway patch has nothing for hardcore raiders. With the SCoB format where we received Savage in the midway patch between tiers we were given another group of fights to do as a challenge till we were given the next tier. This would tide over most players long as it is incentivised.
That being said, what is everyone's thoughts on this interview?
My only question would be if Savage was put in a odd numbered patch, what ilvl would it be put at?
You make Savage require full ilvl of the Normal mode from the patch before. Basically groups interested in Savage farm Normal to get the full ilvl from the tier and then attempt Savage. That was what SCoB had.Absolutely yes here. While I don't agree with a story mode in general, as long as the midcore and hardcore aspect of raiding is still intact, then it would be fine overall. Edit: You wouldn't give higher ilvl gear for the Savage mode. Rewards would be cosmetic rewards like a mount, dyed versions of the normal gear, and titles.

My biggest issue with a bunch of new skills is finger reach. I'm not good with modifiers so I really can get to about 7 keys with one hand doing skills and the other steering. I'd like to see less bar bloat and more buff skills that temporarily alter the function of some of our basic skills. For example enochian for BLM could alter Fire III and Blizzard III to function as IV while the buff is active.

That's the problem. Some of the 50 level classes weren't fun. BLM, MNK plain boring.
The only problem here is that by making savage midcore the game will have no hardcore content.I actually welcome an easier alex, it is about time that we had midcore content within the game the gap between casual and hardcore is huge. I consider it quite a problem because the only thing that kept me subscribed since 2.1 were raids.
