The "problem" is staying subbed that length of time amounts to over three years. They aren't easily obtainable. And I'm not saying they should be. Just expressing I don't necessarily like more content added behind that massive a wall with no alternative means. But then again, I'm not a fan of exclusive content. Certainly won't lose sleep over it though.

What you are saying amounts to "I want what you have but I'm not prepared to fulfil the requirements you did to get it, so give it to me anyway."

The answer is very simple. No. If you want it, sub for 3 years and get it. Any alternative means is simply a way for people to circumvent the requirements. Sound like a very entitled point of view to me. Also, the idea that Americans don't want or like exclusive items is truly laughable. The USA is individualistic to a fault, exclusivity is their bread and butter.

But we like goku, the cloud mount, butler stuff, chinese themed gear. Individuality is synonomous to options. Americans like individuality but we also like a wide variety to ensure this. Even though, glamours are hilariously similar on the NA servers, its probably that way by fact of options(I dont glamour, but i have friends that do and its funny when they find someone with the same glamour all of a sudden its to the market board cause theyre upset and must correct this problem, for the next hour or so) As far as THAT goes there should be a means to obtain items, whether its a veteran reward, stupid fate grind that will make you sick or even a mount thats in savage raids. The argument is tantalus outfit is unobtainable because it takes years of subscription. That isnt unobtainable, it just takes years of subscription. The argument about maid/butler/original chocobo/chinese dress etc was made because it is unobtainable, by any means.

That isn't entitlement. Saying you will work for something is the precise opposite. This is only a timed exclusive. The sentiment is certainly better than say, Best Buy having one preorder item and Gamestop another, but the core idea remains. Entitlement would be my asking for these without any effort put forth. If the devs came out tomorrow and announced you can get say, Cloud's outfit from beating Savage x amount of times. It certainly wouldn't be easy nor entitled. Unless you think beating the hardest content in the game is entitlement. That's just an example mind you. But I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. For whatever it's worth, I do appreciate the sentiment of veteran rewards. I just do not like timed exclusives like that. The same would apply to the Fanfest minions being region bound unless you pay three times to watch it on Twitch.

By that token, I suppose we should eliminate every way of getting ilvl 235 weapons save one. After all, it's "circumvent the requirements." Laughably, and yet how many "put Lightning's hair on the Cash Shop" threads did we see? Preorders are, again, despised because NA tends to prefer being able to get items through grinds or beating challenges, not being told "buy from this specific store, at this specific time or you'll never get it again." Another example? Console exclusives. The instant they get announced for popular games, people rage. So much so, you hardly ever see them nowadays.

as far as all these veteran achievement items are concerned. whats stopping anyone from buying enough gametime required to get them? Its possible, oh its very possible, if you want it that badly. Oh right, something about Americans..lets see... Hotdogs?

it is a bit disheartening newer ones basically have no hope of getting these cosplay outfits (assuming it will be that again).

Why would I want my character to look like an established one from another game?
