It's important, but there are still people, level 60, who can't even use it right.

I was a tank that didn't get provoke until 60. Before flaming let me put some context to this. For any new tank that doesn't do lvl 50 ex raids with a fc, provoke is not required until lvl 60 raids and primals. I knew it was there but dreaded doing it because it's the worst cross class to level. As a player you spend all this time leveling a tank and achieve max or close to max and suddenly... You have to go level practically the same class... At least with healers it's slightly different since your roles change and with dps rotations change.
Then said tank enters a trial or roulette at 60 and learns he needs it for the 1st time. From my experience that party was not understanding in the slightest. I felt like just not learning it to piss people of at that point... Im. sure other people have too.
So just remeber that during the leveing process, provoke is not required.
I personally have less of a problem with needing to get a class to 22 for a necessary cross-class skill and more of one with needing to play Gladiator for 22 levels.

tbh the gameplay difference between GLD and MRD from level 1 to 22 is almost non-existent. There is even classes which are even more boring at that level, like Lancer which literally only spams Impulse Drive and refreshes heavy thrust until it gets Full Thrust at level 26 because it's more potency-per-GCD than doing True Thrust -> Vorpal Thrust. So when you look at it... levelling Gladiator to 22 is actually not that bad lol

The whole lancer thing is a problem with the person playing I'm sorry. You choose to use impulse drive only when you can use the 2 set combo until getting the full 3 set combo. No one is forcing anyone to just use impulse drive.tbh the gameplay difference between GLD and MRD from level 1 to 22 is almost non-existent. Because it's, well...more efficient. The same reason we urge Black Mages to use Enochian at 60, rather than doing the old 2.0 rotation. I agree that being efficient is a choice, but it's generally a socially desired one.

this is by far my best encounter in Duty Finder when one of the tank doesn't have Provoke.. notice that the paladin actually kept dying with 2 weakness and know what provoke actually is, compared to the war who was actually dare to go AFK mid fight because dude got salty being useless in that fight.. I don't know if he knew it or not, but if that person actually chose not to go AFK midfight, we could have beat ultima in that enrage..
It has 10 more potency with a drawback of 10 more TP per 2 gcd fyi..

As others have said, you can tell a tank 500 times that they need Provoke and they still won't get it. There's guides everywhere emphasising it's importance. Every good tank will tell a new tank that they must get Provoke. It doesn't mean they're going to get it.
You can only add so much incentive for players before you have to force it on them.
Thats when I make use of the vote kick feature. I simply dont play with people who insist on being ignorant. I rarely run into this though.
Most serious end-game tanks are going to have all tank jobs leveled eventually. WAR and DRK not having provoke really just boils down to inexperience mixed with laziness.
