You must have no idea how much faster FATEs go when your solo. You are right. There is the key factor that this is a limited event, and the closer the event comes to ending, the bigger task 800 fates becomes, especially as less people are doing it because they are either done or burnt out. The event will need an extra injection of incentive in order to make it worthwhile towards the end. It won't happen yet but I can see something happening in mid september.
While I was doing my daily hour or two of grind it was like the game was giving me a gift when i found an empty zone
The more people that finish or give up, the better it becomes for those still doing it
Also did all my fates solo and only region i did the beasty fate grind was western la noscea. I couldn't get myself to join the 2 fate train in outer. Some regions are great solo some less but only once or twice someone i was in party with for other things did fates with me.
Took me 786 fates and my droprate was at 28,3% at end which is imo pretty high for rng in this game. Also the more medals i had the faster i got em overall....
Now working on my 2 alts for the minions only but my low level alt struggles to find good regions to solo fates :/

You don't need all the weapons... if you are too busy to get all the ones you want in 2 months, then sad to say you don't deserve to have them.
Also no idea why you would solo fates when you can hit one thing and instantly get a gold medal in fate parties.
To get the 2nd mount you need to have all the weapons.
That isn't really an excuse when you have nearly two and a half months to collect the weapons. The entire point of a limited event is the rewards obtained are, well, limited. Seeing how the 210 Anima grind hasn't been reduced despite vocal outrage, I sincerely doubt they will adjust the Yokai droprate at any point. If you math it out 800 Fates over 70 days, that amounts to just 11.4 Fates per day. Seeing that requires no more than an hour of time, it's not asking a lot.You are right. Pretty much the only issue with this event is that the yokai medals you get at 100% rate are completely useless after you get the minions. They should've been since the start a way to ease the grind and to help the new players who want to do this event but do not have the levels or gear to do 700 fates in all those different areas.
Like some people pointed out on the 1st few days, this event would only get harder as the time goes, less and less people will be doing the event and so instead of a few pokes you're required to finish the fate at 100% to have a chance of getting a legendary medal, with a 700 ish fate requirement, that's obscenely grindy.
Each minion has 3 zones you can grind and 1 is always a low end zone.Pretty much the only issue with this event is that the yokai medals you get at 100% rate are completely useless after you get the minions. I know, the issue is that doing 700 fates as a level 30 is still a extreme task to be asked to a new player who will most likely be more focused in the MSQ than grind for a glowing mount. And any new player that joins within the last week/s of the event, they better grind their life off because either they go sleepless or they won't finish it.
15 medals in 8 hours sounds really low, to be honest, especially if you're the only person in those FATEs. For that time period, with about 1-10 people also participating in FATEs with me, I was getting more like 30 medals or more.
My advice is to pick the areas with the low-level FATEs, make use of teleports, and explore if nothing's been up for a few minutes to make sure you know where the manually-spawned FATEs are. For example, Central Thanalan is great if people are checking for the five manually-spawned ones instead of all just waiting in town for only the automatic ones (and waiting extra for the manual ones to expire).
I personally ended up sticking to Western La Noscea, Middle La Noscea, Central Thanalan, Southern Thanalan, Central Shroud, and North Shroud.
Seeing as to how you're Lv.60, also use Level Sync to your advantage for healing purposes (assuming you're doing low-level FATEs as suggested). Like if you're tanking a boss and you're low on health, don't run. Instead, drop Level Sync, pop Second Wind or something, and turn Level Sync back on to continue hurting the boss. Or if Second Wind isn't available, just drop Level Sync and wait a few ticks for your natural regen to heal you a little.
I sure hope you forgot to write outer la noscea. Going back and forth between full metal alchemist and making the rounds its the best way to get the last 90 medals.
