    Bad players are bad players, and good players are good players. How you get there does not matter at all or we wouldn't have bad players today. Plus there's people with alts, or people already familiar with the game that don't want to grind a whole other class...

    By lockouts I mean stuff like only being able to gather one map a day, only doing a certain amounts of daily, levequests allowances, raids lockouts... anything with an in game timer that prevents you from accessing that content/rewards again (nodes that pop up only at certain times included). Anything that works against the player playing the game. Ilvl gates help you survive. They are not a problem, they help you.

    they HAVE to make it a grind to keep people playing...
    It certanly doesn't make me want to keep playing.

    I'm pretty sure most people will agree with me on the fact that if everythin you said happened to make you want to keep playing, most others would not. It's better to loose one customer than the most part of the player base.

    You are in the distinct minority. Without some means of preventing people from grinding out content in a week, those same people would eventually quit because they've finished everything within a month and the next endgame raid won't release for another five.

    -Cash shop: it was a bad idea and it still is. Completely sours the game. What's worse is that instead having a balanced shop that will not disrupte the game but would help your costumer you're just having exclusive recolours, minions and glamours, which is what most of your game is about! Sell gil, tomestones and experience for people who don't want to farm it, not exclusive items! When some F2P shops are more balanced and fair to their playerbase than a sub game, it's bad.

    You are lvl 50... and you dont have a single MRD ability to support your lvl 50 PLD
    Something like this makes me think you are not very serious, and as such... I have to take some comments with a grain of salt.

    To address your comments -
    -Levequests give greater exp the higher you are lvled.
    -Dungeons needs encouragement to be re-ran or else the new people will have less experienced people to learn from, not to mention many of the dungeons are crafted well and have fun mob fights. Not all, but thats up to personal preference
    -Class quests begin at lvl 50 again and run to lvl 60.
    -Crafting and Gathering help more then themselves, half price repairs for life and overmelds are a staple of serious raiders. Not to mention the flow of Gil.
    -There have been issues with some contents lockouts, but overall they are adjusting it as they go. Its good to have people locked out of some content due to inexperience, the iLvL function helps this along.

    You seem to want to only do things once and move along, well this is a MMO and its pretty much designed for you to go back and see what you missed before hand. The thrill of working out a bosses mechanics is gone, but the chance to do them with perfection and efficiency remains.
