Yes, it's supposed to work that way.

Seems silly to apply this to full groups. It accomplishes nothing beyond being an inconvenience for the other members.

That doesn't mean you can inconvenience 3/7 other people because you had to leave due to your raid that you knew about before queuing.

A penalty was a penalty before, but it didn't stop you from raiding. And now it does! Now its more like a penalty +1.

Was there a popular demand for an expanded penalty, or was it just an oversight? Are they going to keep sneaking extras on the 'things you can't do with a penalty' list?

And don't forget, not all penalties are as deserved as others. For example, I've seen someone get auto AFK kicked (and therefore given a 30 min penalty) while they were waiting for a disconnected player to return! Is that fair? :/

I don't think you get a penalty from being vote dismissed or logging off in a DF instance. The only time you suffer a penalty is if you leave a full party prematurely. If the party is already missing a member or you have been vote dismissed for whatever reason, you will not receive a penalty.

The system gives you a 10 minute warning before kicking you lol. I think SE didn't realize it yet or is unaware of the penalty occurring right after they added raid finder and palace of the dead and therefore it's not yet on their list of fixes. It wasn't planned or we would have seen the patch note mentioning it. Just give it some time.

If anything was an oversight it was that you could raid before with a penalty.

Well it's your raid persons fault. He joined a DF and left it because it was almost raid time, now he screwed other folks so now he has to take the heat.
Do what KitFox does and make sure no one does anything and prepare 30mins before raid time.

This isn't even what happened! Why must people assume the worst case scenario?

The player in question was doing an EX roulette with 2 others from our raid group, plus 1 random person. They can normally get through these in approx 15 mins, and had what they thought was plenty of time before raid. However, part of the way through he had to go AFK to deal with an incident at home, and couldn't get back within 5 minutes; enough time to be automatically kicked.

So it was just an accident, not some malicious attempt to screw over as many people as possible before raid!

Anyway, if the majority of people like the system how it stands now, then its fine with me. Its just something else raid groups will have to take into consideration from now on.
