Exclusivity is perfectly fine. MMOs are full of exclusive items, so this should not be anything new to most people. The issue starts when people have hissies over not being able to obtain an item because they missed out on whatever the event was.The difference being it's not something that is unobtainable. Just because I haven't been subbed long enough to get the Cloud Strife Outfit, doesn't mean I can't be subscribed long enough to get it. You've a point, it's a status symbol to a degree, but its not exclusive. It's something someone can work towards. Exclusivity engenders segregation.

I know since I have the legacy tattoo >.>
Because it is a matter of style. 2 different tattoos on the same spot will just look bad. You could also just ask for a big black dot as a back tattoo.

So what about the suggestion of others tatoos (like the job tattoo) ? With a possibility to choose, for the legacy player, between the "new" ones and the legacy brand
What do legacy players thing about this idea which allow them to keep their brand but also to get new ones ? ^^
Or is it not the brand but the idea of giving tattoo to everyone which is the problem ? (not trolling, just trying to understand everyone's point, please don't hurt me ^^")

As a marked player, I'm honestly fine with tattoos in general, even if it were to be in the same spot. Just keep the "brand" itself to legacy members only. More tattoos would be fun![]()
I'm all for more tattoos, anywhere on the body.
My main character was started when I came back to the game in 2.3 so doesn't have a tattoo. I played 1.0 during the free period (no I have the tattoo but not the full legacy status) and thanks to this thread, today I discovered my two 1.0 characters are alive on Ridill!
...Had I known about this when I made Bunny, I would've transferred my 1.0 character to the server my friends are on (Ragnarok) and used her instead. As it stands, I'm trying to talk myself out of redoing the story, regearing, relevelling everything, my 240 relic I got yesterday, getting all my ponies and most importantly, my house, for the sake of that bloody tattoo I love so much. XD #help
Oy! That would be quite the undertaking!! Buuuuuuut, if you really want the tattoo, it may be something you can slowly work on in your spare time. Nice little side projectI'm all for more tattoos, anywhere on the body.

Aye, I could. I'm working on an alt at the moment so it'd be a case of changing characters to focus on. The only problem though is possibly minor to many but important to me - my wedding ring. I wouldn't mind getting remarried as my computer was a potato at the time so I'd get nice new screenshots, but the date was the first day weddings were added, I'd like to keep that. It's a shame we can't have the legacy tattoo be added to a 2.0 character in exchange for the deletion of the original (yes it's incredibly lore-breaking, but I can dream). :P
More on topic, I'm currently brainstorming loads of wonderful tattoo ideas for all over the body, it'd add a whole new level of customisation and originality. Could be GC, a job, favourite beast tribe and hell, a reference if you have an XI character perhaps?!![]()

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
