Actually that could be very cool, especially if it changes depending on our actual class ^^
Keep the legacy brand for legacy players, it does not matter as long as we can get other ones ^^
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
The tatoo on the back is how you visually recognize the 1.0 WoL´s so to make new tatoos on the same spot/back would completely ruin that.
Even if you were to make different brands or different designs, the simple fact is that the majority of people would not know that and would mistake the 1.0 one as just yet another design.
You had one chance to get a back-tatoo and that was supporting 1.0 FFXIV.
Just like me, you decided against it/did not know about it and did not take your chance, so now you do not deserve to have that.
Serously, there can´t be a single MMO with veteran/founder rewards, without the rest of the community pawing at it in a way or another or asking for a substitute.
Those rewards are there for a reason, and it would be unfair to devalue that reward in any way or shape just because you think it´s cool and want it too.
Why is it that every other thread in this forum is "I think i am entitled to/ i demand x, GIMME"
Back tatoos are 1.0 rewards, deal with it.
(And yes, as a 2.0 player i also think it would be cool to have, only i understand why i don´t)

And so ? is it that an issue to mistake a 1.0 player from a 2.0 ? Being a 2.0 player is not an insult as far as i know, needless to say, being a 1.0 does not ake you stronger, smarter or more beautiful ^^"The tatoo on the back is how you visually recognize the 1.0 WoL´s so to make new tatoos on the same spot/back would completely ruin that.

I mean, isn't it the definition of being a "special snowflake" to feel that much need for being treated as better than other players ? ^^" (english not my mother tongue so i actually never understood the expression ^^")
They can keep their cool brand we would not get it, make it an exclusive design and problem solved, everyone happy ^^

Implying that 1.0 players are trying to be treated like special snowflakes is actually kinda insulting. I have seen a tonne of people in this thread (myself included) in defense of 1.0 players who don't have the tattoo themselves. Having something special and exclusive is not a bad thing, trying to retain it's value is not a bad thing. I honestly don't mind a tattoo system so long as the back remains clear, arm tattoos, neck tattoos (like the scion symbol), those are fine, but if you start encroaching on the 1.0 reward, then what was the point of the mark in the first place?
Please have some respect for players, I didn't preorder ARR, and I don't go around asking for an alternate cait sith minion (as much as I want one). I respect the players that did preorder the game, and move on with the knowledge that if I do nab an exclusive reward, then it should feel more valuable, though right now I would feel fearful that some player on the forum will have a tantrum.

I have already explained in my first post how having a different brand/tatoo would devalue the original 1.0 Reward regardless.
You even acknowledged and replied to this, and even went as far as to call the 1.0 players snowflakes.
Now you act like you completely forgot this argument and claim you are not asking for the same as if that actually countered the point i made about you.
This is the same tactic you used in the "mog thread", by ignoring the points i was making in favor of a cheap come-back and a reply that did not actually face my arguments.
I do not think poorly of you because "We disagreed in the mog thread"
I think poorly of you because you are both dishonest when debating and you seem to think you are entitled to everything just because you pay a sub.
Well, you are not.

Sorry, I may have been a bit too heavy handed in my response, I just hate the expression and I feel it is used far too often to promote entitlement to things that players don't have. In my eyes, it is something that people use when they are jealous of something that they don't have, and they put players down for having an exclusive item (like you said "1.0 players think they are better than 2.0 players, they think they are special snowflakes" a statement which in my 3 years of playing has never held any truth, and just makes you seem jealous and entitled of something that you don't have)
Let the Legacy players keep their tattoo, this I can understand, but asking for the back section to be exclusive to the legacy players only, is ridiculous.
How is it ridiculous?
As i mentioned before, other brands/tatoos/designs on the back would clearly make it harder to observe and recognize the 1.0 tatoo or even know of it´s significance.
You say "We don´t want to take away the 1.0, we just want something different" but when that "something different" is going to indirectly devalue the 1.0, how does "not wanting to take the 1.0 away" even matter?
You are still asking for something that, perhaps in a lesser form, is still "damaging" the reward.
If you wanted tatoos anywhere else i would support you 100% of the way but on the same spot?
No way...
It´s like if now they gave up a differently colored Cait Sith.
Your think your average Joe would know the difference between both Cait Siths?
I wish I could move my legacy tattoo from my old character to my new one T_T It was trapped on a Japanese legacy server during 2.0 launch meaning I had to start a new one if I wanted to play with friends >.>
