Complaints Concerning the Yokai Watch Event

Personally, I don't see a problem with the event. It has players coming back to participate in previously abandoned fates for something they're interested in,

Let me preface by saying I don't personally want any of the minions, weapons, or the mounts from this event as I honestly think all of them look just awful but I want to address this point.

That being said however, I still wouldn't go for this event even if there were things I want as I absolutely can't stand doing FATEs as a player that already has every single class maxed out at 60. FATEs are boring and their main purpose has always been a way of getting extra exp while you're out questing and without that it's difficult for me to muster up the will to really grind them out even for something I want because their main purpose doesn't provide a real benefit (no I don't consider the event items a real benefit). I'd want something more substantial as a reward, my immediate thought is that if you you do a FATE as a 60 it should provide a much higher amount of gil as compensation. A more tangible benefit like that could potentially have people out in the world farming FATEs as a way of earning money after they have a class at 60.

Normally maybe. But since these happens in low level zones, I doubt it.

if I had to complain it's that the whole event feels very lazily done for something that was supposed to be a big event/crossover. I am not complaining about the grind or the amount of time/fates it takes to get everything. that's not my major gripe with the event. the closest the event gets to interesting is the first 10 minutes. after that its hours upon hours of doing the same fates over and over again. the whole event is just blatant "let's make the old areas look populated cus nobody does them and we have to make this game look populated" (i don't think the free login campaign is a coincidence) the event is just needlessly tedious and boring.

You'd think the purpose of cross-over event is to make people like the cross-over product, not getting sick of it.

I don't know if there would have been a proper way to go about this, given what the event is for, and for what FF14 is. Yo-Kai is something I've seen being plugged in multiple platforms, for one reason or another. It honestly feels like FF14 was just caught in the crossfire, and this is what we're left with.

Not exactly true. Yoshida and the guy who created Yokai Watch are apparently good friends and came up with the cross over idea one day while they were out drinking. So it's not really like FFXIV was caught in the crossfire of some promotion and they were forced in to it per se.

Blame Yoshida's friend. Apparently he was the one that wanted it difficult to get weapons.

I levelled my summoner from 51 to 57 with this event, FC EXP buff II was up most of the time but I never bothered to eat to get more EXP.
