Lasting a few weeks should actually be preferred. I've been trying to level up my WAR and PLD in Aery, and I sit on average for eight minutes AS A TANK. No one's running the leveling fates. I tried to do a treasure hunt group the other day, and one person signed up during the hour I had it open. About 75% of the PFs were for Yo-kai. These kind of events that make you waste hours upon hours of fate grinding should NEVER last more than a few weeks, because it keeps people from playing regular content.
To be fair the drop rate seems to be roughly 25% or so. I seem to 1 every 4 or5 fates. Sure some longer runs with nothing and sometimes back to back 3 times. However, I think it would have helped if they had a fate that was 100% every now and then to keep interest up. They have a way to make this fun without making it a mindless chore. I know that originally it was said you won't be able to get them all or we don't expect you too, yet they then dangle a reward at the end if you do, meaning they DO expect you to. However the fate they had for new years (I think it was?) with the pounder and rice, that event/fate was fun and I loved it. They can make it interesting but instead "Go, grind what you have grinded countless times before when you were just starting out and leveling".
It'd be different if it wasn't "do this content X amount of times", being able to collect Medals outside of doing FATEs would've been a good way to make it far less tedious. Obviously people would figure out the best way to maximize Medals per minute but anyone doing it casually would have a nice variance of things to do. Ah well, not surprised it turned out this way.
This is exactly my sentiment. Overall, the whole purpose of this "event" was to waste time, and inflate player count numbers in low level areas (notice how Northern Thanalan, Coerthas, or Mor Dhona weren't options?) while the Free Login Campaign was going on.Lasting a few weeks should actually be preferred. It's agenda driving at it's finest.
Love this pic. A perfect analogy to the current state of FFXIV and people that blindly defend the things it does.
Increase the drop rate in the next patch please!...![]()
Usually an event doesn't have harsh RNG or a big grind, but this one has both. Looks like it will take between 600 and 900 fates for most people. They could have either made the legendary medals drop at a certain 100% rate or kept the low rate but reduced the amount of medals needed. Using both RNG and big token amounts makes this similar to a relic / anima grind, but this is for glamor rather than a progression weapon which is unprecedented and makes me wonder why. It took much less time to get the Lightning XIII crossover rewards.
Well...actually I like this. I rather have RNG and a longer grind then a cap. Can you imagine if medals were 100% obtainable but we could only obtain so many each week? Noty. This is way better and this is how the entire game should be. No caps but take longer to get stuff. I COULD ACTUALLY PLAY MORE THEN ONE JOB QUITE EFFICIENTLY!!!and yea, I have 0 issue with the grind..its using the FATE system over and over and over and over...
No..lol. Do not make it easier after people have done the original grind. They do this with everything else..they better not touch this one. It already is rather easy..I have 4 more weapons to go, and I don't have a very high play time at all..so meh :P
