You need to do fates for both, have the watch equipped and you'll get a Yokai medallion after each fate. You need those medallions to buy the minions. This so much this. Wasn't too interested because Normally I try to do all events for completion sake but... I've never heard of yokai before, and the inclusion of fate grinding in a seasonal/promotional even that was supposed to be fun with cute little minions killed it for me. Off topic do the minions themselves need fates or is that just weapons?
I wish we only had to do 273 FATES, right now its between 566-700 FATES which is insane for a event with a time-limit. If there was no time-limit then this would not have been any issue, but releasing a grindy event during the holiday and the start of class/work (most people go back to class/work at the mid or end of August), will make it hard to get it.
I realy hope this new atma type event will not return in future events.
I don't know how you use your time but for me, it's approximatively 15 medals for 1h30-2h00 of farm, which means ~3h30 for 30 medals and not 7 hours.---
"You've got two months to do it. If you stretch it out over that time it's not going to be a big deal." --- I'm aware of this as well, but I don't know if anyone wants to take a few hours of each day (Again, like, 7 hours for one of the final 3 weapons means 21 hours total) to grind fates for it though. Some folks rather just get it done, and I've seen plenty of folks say that the grind just isn't worth it period.
You should maybe be more active, look at the best zone among the three available and find a way more efficient when you doing fates.
You're right. My choice of words for "instant gratification" was not very appropriate.I'm not apart of any FC at the moment and even then, I don't think most people want to spend time running around doing FATEs...
I also don't see how doing an additional 222 FATEs is "playing the regular game", if I've gotten through the regular game just fine by doing much less.
I have never mentioned "Instant Gratification" in any sort of a context...
What I meant by "playing the regular game" is that this is "not playing the regular game". This is a special event. Therefore, to complete it, players must go beyond playing the regular game to obtain limited edition minions / weapons / mounts.
Who said anything about being part of an FC?
I said "party finder". Look at the Party Finder tool. Aren't there several groups of people doing FATES for this event? At least in my server there are tons.
If there are not, you can take the initiative and create one. Make a group, invite 7 people, plow through FATES one hour a day and you'll get the items you want.
I understand many people complain it is not fun. But are most things in this game which require tons of effort to get fun? Is Anima Weapon fun? I've never heard anyone say it is.
But most people do it.
How about the achievement of "Gather 20,000 HQ items as a miner"? That certainly does not seem fun at all. Should we make it only 10,000? Or should we make it so the chance to receive an HQ item is higher? Say 50%?
Yes, it would be easier. But the reward would not match the effort.
This is exactly like the Anima grind, wherein Yoshi explicitly said they designed it for people to take their time, not attempt to grind everything in a weekend. Granted, they ought to know by now people will inevitably do that, but then again, content like this isn't intended for those types of players.
It has nothing to do with being more active or efficient. The droprate for the medals is pure RNG and maybe you were just really lucky? I farmed all three 30er weapons in Outer La Noscea where there are two fates that spawn near each other as soon as the other one is done. You cant get much for efficient IMO and yet it still took me a whole day of fate farming to get 90 medals and I seemed to be at least kinda lucky with my droprate so far. (Around 30%) I still have 5 weapons left but I am already sick of Fates and the Yokais.I don't know how you use your time but for me, it's approximatively 15 medals for 1h30-2h00 of farm, which means ~3h30 for 30 medals and not 7 hours.

Maybe more funny cutscenes and less mindless grinding to make people interested in that show? And I am also not sure why they don't want anyone to get all weapons or the second mount. It should be nothing but a fun little crossover and a little bit of marketing but instead they turned it into another grind..I would gladly do another anima weapon instead of this..at least I have more than one way to get the tokens.
Two months seems to be like a lot of time, but its holiday season and on top of that we will probably get another two events in that time period. And for people that don't have time to play daily and not much hours per day to log in, 2 months may not be enough, especially since you can be really unlucky and maybe want to do other parts of the game too and not only doing fates...
Like I said..why does it need to be so hard to get? Shouldn't it create a desire to look this show up instead of making people annoyed of it? And why the heck is the second mount not that much different from the first one? A cat and its glowing..well thanks for doing 600 or more fates...at least make it unique..
I wish I had your luck. I went 2 hours the other night with no drop at all. I have the worst RNG luck. I farmed fates for 8 hours yesterday and got 25 medals.I don't know how you use your time but for me, it's approximatively 15 medals for 1h30-2h00 of farm, which means ~3h30 for 30 medals and not 7 hours.

I am hoping people finish the event early so that I can create my new character on Gilgamesh!
I don't mind the grind what i do mind is the fact they keep falling back on FATEs.
If the drop rate isn't increased, I'd be surprised, because this would be the first seasonal event that punishes players.
I'm working on my 7th weapon (out of 26, because I have two characters) and it's gonna be interesting seeing the struggle towards the tail end of the event when only a handful of players are doing fates, even on the lower populated servers.
