Well you would say that given one of those 'disappointment' threads is yours and you want to keep it going. This thread might be in response to such threads but at least this one is light hearted and has a positive message. Nothing wrong with people making threads to express their like of Yoshi and all the dedication and hard work he has put into recreating this game after the failure of 1.0.

Except it loses meaning when the opposite thread was made just to openly oppose and mock the other side without adding anything meaningful. It's basically using Yoshida's hard work as a schoolyard tactic of mocking someone you don't like.Well you would say that given one of those 'disappointment' threads is yours and you want to keep it going. Why is this thread even here?
It doesn't lose meaning as long as the OP believes in the sentiment behind what was said. If the OP does actually love Yoshi and the hard work he has put into making this game what it is today then it is valid. Expressing their appreciation for Yoshi and his dedication is meaningful to many people even if it is meaningless to you.
This forum of late has a lot of people jumping on a hate bandwagon, making ridiculous suggestions like Yoshi either leaving or being fired or lame criticisms like blaming SE for that persons wrong expectations despite SE blatantly explaining what to expect beforehand on specific piece of content. Not all criticism is invalid or bad but there is no reason why this forum should only be filled with those hating on things. Ones which express gratitude for the developers and their content is also valid even if the motive for expressing such is partially to counter balance the hate bandwagon.

It adds nothing to the discussion as far as why something is good. At least compared to the disappointment threads, half of them have some meaningful points behind it (whether you agree with it or not), this one has nothing to do it and really feels like it was done in reaction (and this is the big thing here) to the negative threads
. Another way to look at it is; is something like OP's singular post enough to justify an entirely new topic to begin with? Much like how everyone wants to shoot down people who want to make a negative topic, regardless of if it has valid points or not. Your post is an example of that; you feel the need to defend this thread but point out disappointment threads in a similar manner.

Yes. Like a stone dropped in a pond which creates a ripple of discussion.
I am not surprised some negative people are against this one which attempts to in part counter balance your/their hatred of SE and the recent content by expressing a positive message that not everyone is on that hate bandwagon. Maybe you or they think it mocks their hate and the hate threads in general or maybe you think it undermines the bandwagon of hate currently infesting these forums towards SE and their content but that does not mean ones like this which express a positive message should be censored or erased from existence. As long as the OP believes in the positive sentiment of what was said in the first post then as far as I am concerned this thread has as much right to exist as the negative ones.

The thread only exist because the other one does. It is no longer meaningful. It doesn't lose meaning as long as the OP believes in the sentiment behind what was said.

You only cherry picked out my post, much like you're picking out individual posts in a discussion. At that point, it honestly feels less of a discussion in the proverbial pond, but more of a targetted pebble on a ripple.
The entire discussion has devolved into this now, there is no ripple anymore, just a mess of pebbles falling into the pond interrupting other ripples.
