Ok, I know the minstrel is Yoshi... those this mean Nohi is the avatar of that factor 5 person from the live letter?

Nohi is an anagram of Hino, so I assume yes.

Really shouldv'e been the Jibanyan in Ironworks riding a Whisper-Lion though

Well, I don't know much about Japanese... but I do know that it's written in syllables and not individual letters.
So yeah, Nohi is just Hino backwards - basically telling everyone he's the avatar of Level-5's Akihiro Hino.

Most of the Yokai stuff doesn't really bother me that much, but that mount is the most out of place looking thing I've seen to date in this game. Not a fan.

I just got it, and the mount is comical. It's out of place, but what do you expect from a mount designed like a kiddie ride using a cartoon ghost as the basis put into a (sometimes grim) fantasy world?

I love that mount.
After my third frustrating attempt at Final Steps, only to be greeted by that hokey mount, seeing it just nyoom by, my frustration melted. It's hilarious. I need it.

Considering the Golden Saucer exists for these kind of things, the mount seems like a minor jump the shark.
Hello, if you're reading this, then you should know this isn't part of the post.

Well, at least thanks to its small size, you feel like you're going fast with the Whisper-go...
