You're talking about such minor things like facial expressions or gestures. Some are mentioning entirely new animations for running, fighting, and poses. The amount of design time needed to make such insignificant changes isn't worth it in my opinion. We need meaningful end game content, new kinds of content, and countless other things the devs need to be working on. I could care less if my character smirks or smiles or frowns, or runs slightly differently. Who spends this much time staring at their character? It seems over half the recommendations on these forums are for more and more fluff content. I just don't understand how this impacts the enjoyment of the game at all. What is the psychological pay out for seeing my character run slightly different or stand slightly different? Sorry, I just dont get it. So many better ways for the dev team to spend their time.

Yes! I was hoping for something like that when I started the game and saw that I could choose a sentence in a cutscene.

You do realize that one thing doesn't HAVE to exclude others, right? The guy that model a pose is not the guy that make a concept art for a dungeon, nor is the guy that work on the mechanics, or the guy that makes the bgm, or the guy that writes the lore, or the guy that decides the map, or the guy that design bosses, or the guy that design outfits. etc, etc. Stop treating game developing like something that 5 people do and everyone do pretty much everything at the same time.
If you play the game for beating monsters and get stats good for you, but this is a MMORPG, and many RPG fans play it and care about their character.

One of the very popular key selling points of many MMOs is freedom in character customization, especially when there are glamour systems. People love getting into that kind of thing. :P
