COMPLETELY BREAKS THE IMMERSION OF THE GAMES LORE

I gave up on that when they released the Ifrit weapons.
We had all this great traditional gear and they come out with these ridiculous things? The "immersion" was broken from that point on for me. Just gotta take it as it comes along, for better or worse.

Thats not the point.

The whole event and the items breaks the immersion of the game. I don't want to see the mount and the minions and the stupid items.

I understand people saying "Don't take part" and "Its not a big deal" but it really is a big deal. How long until we start seeing more crap like this? The ONLY reason that this is in the game is because Yoshi is good buds with Akihiro Hina (CEO and President of Youkai Watch).

Would you be happy if you bought the latest Call of Duty game and it had a level where everyone played as Bratz dolls?

Reminds me of the "forced to transmog" thread on the WoW forums. Someone whining about having to see others transmogs. LOL.

This just feels like a really cheap marketing campaign.

I completely agree it breaks immersion and I'm not the least happy, but I'll just shrug it off. They're not holding this because of our opinions, so I'll just go on pretending it doesn't exist and hope people don't use the minions all the time.

I guess OP has never visited the 13th floor where our characters met the development team, saw concept and artwork for the game on the walls, watched a developer riding a unicorn while his character was playing the game (farming atma's on a tv screen) from within the game itself. I guess the OP never noticed the dragon quest event either.

There are tons of references to other games, movies, books, TV shows, etc in the game. Tons. Not even hard to find them (mostly)

Ifrit weapons, and silly in game items based on the Final Fantasy universe are still fan service.

Even if it was a Cactaur Bikini. It would still be fan service. But the moment that Bikini has something from another world printed on it, its no longer fan service
