    Open in FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in your My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn folder. Change BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1. Save and close. Relaunch game.

    Same thing happened to me. However I got it to work by closing the patcher first, before editing the file. Try that, make sure patcher is totally closed, then change the value, save and close the file, then try opening the patcher again.

    I noticed that having the patcher open, the file instantly changes the value back to zero when you close the patcher. So you have to close it first.

    Changed file and saved, restarted computer, verified file still had the "1" in it. Still getting the same error box
