    Unable to perform version check?

This is the first time I've had this happen and I can't seem to find anything about it, I'm getting an error that's telling me the version information isn't consistent between the booter, launcher and updater with several things to try (which I have other than reinstalling the client) and a bunch of bracketed numbers.

It was working fine before the maintenance began, is anyone else getting this error box?

Open in FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in your My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn folder. Change BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1. Save and close. Relaunch game.

    It happened to me, too.

Same thing happened to me. However I got it to work by closing the patcher first, before editing the file. Try that, make sure patcher is totally closed, then change the value, save and close the file, then try opening the patcher again.

I noticed that having the patcher open, the file instantly changes the value back to zero when you close the patcher. So you have to close it first.

Changed file and saved, restarted computer, verified file still had the "1" in it. Still getting the same error box

I got it as well. I had this the last patch too. If that's anything to go by, it'll be about 10 hours after the game goes online for it to be fixed. Few people had this issue and Squeenix never made a peep about it (when suddenly, out of the blue, the game just came online), probably too busy admiring their handiwork to realize that not everyone was able to login. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

If you use an antivirus (something like Avast), it might of bugged out when trying to update the launcher/replacing files. I've had that happen a couple times. Fixed it by having my girlfriend send me her updated/patched boot folder and replaced the entire boot folder in the install folder. It would then run the client update properly. If you have someone that can zip the updated boot folder up and send it to you try that if you haven't.

Reinstalling probably works too as a last resort.

Did you exceute as administrator? If not, the client won't update.
