I always thought Dancer could work as an offshoot of rogue...
But the devs don't want to do multiple jobs off of classses anymore.
That does not fit with the fact that the Garlean Empire employs a lot of Conjurors for healing. Not to mention their magitek devices allow them to emulate magic spells if need be. So there would be no healer using surgical bots.Sort of. But that runs the risk of being redundant with the alchemist present. I was thinking along the lines of a healer using what could basically be considered the equivalent of mobile surgical machines and devices. If you've played swtor, the Operative healer in that game fires darts loaded with medicine as it's "Cure" spell, their "cure II" is a larger robot that deals a larger injection, and a robot that uses a medicinal spray as it's "Regen" spell.
Would be more likely for them to come out with something like a Magitek Trooper, a soldier wearing a magitek powered armor to enhance their attacks, using cartridges to fire off elemental attacks. Which would fit right in with a Garlean themed expansion.

simply no, first samurai are not caster, second we already have a caster class based on parry/evasion it's called the dark knight. plus bard and machinist is maybe the less interesting gameplay out, please don't copy it for melee. plus yoshida have already stated it will come as dps
you know it's often the same thing than red mage? some game did added it in place of red mage or as recquirement for red mage...
i prefere see the dancer with either whip or weapon placed on the leg, making it a class that don't really wield weapon.
planned, but i'm not sure it will arrive under this form, because a jobs that can do all is not a good thing... melee, casted offensive and support spell.... that almost 3 role in one class.
already exist in the conjurer class, that sad, but if you read the story about them, they are wielding the power of the element, what is the core mechanic of the geomancer.
can be fun, this one will be tricky tough
will probably never happend, sadly. you can found the puppet in uld'ah it's a way to bring some jobs without adding them.Puppet Master: This is no classic, because only exist 2 games with this one, Final Fantasy IV The After Years (Luca can control Calcabrina Dolls) and Final Fantasy XI. An alternative to Beast Master, this one uses Puppets, which can be his own weapons or a summoned pet. Like Beast Master, they fight 80% with pets.
i will have more see it from pug, with kicking combo for do them support action, it will have been nice.

thats not true, toshida exact words are "whe choose DRk to be the next tank for heavensward reasons, and the SAM feels like a dps to hem"
and thas whe said several months before heavensward, there is not official words about what roles gonna be the SAM until october if they in the end choose the job for the next expansion.
and yes yoshida is the boss but everyone already need to know without any official announcement all words are smoke, more if are personal feeling, devs go to add to the game the jobs and the roles they need, SAM is 50-50% in both roles for now.

Well what you're describing actually is how Chemist plays in some of the previous FFs. In Tactics they literally shot their allies with a gun that launched potions. They wouldn't need to actually use physical items, just have the skills and mechanics themed on the concept of using such things. I was hoping MCH was going to be Chemist when they started teasing the gun job but there's still room for us to get a different type of gun weapon in future.Sort of. But that runs the risk of being redundant with the alchemist present. I was thinking along the lines of a healer using what could basically be considered the equivalent of mobile surgical machines and devices. If you've played swtor, the Operative healer in that game fires darts loaded with medicine as it's "Cure" spell, their "cure II" is a larger robot that deals a larger injection, and a robot that uses a medicinal spray as it's "Regen" spell.

you want a good reason? samurai will be too similar to the dark knight and warrior as tank....thats not true, toshida exact words are "whe choose DRk to be the next tank for heavensward reasons, and the SAM feels like a dps to hem"
and thas whe said several months before heavensward, there is not official words about what roles gonna be the SAM until october if they in the end choose the job for the next expansion.

- if they make it a pure physical, you already have the warrior that fill the role of tank that deal damage and are based on evasion/parry
- if they add some sort of magic, it will be like the dark knight that too is based on evasion/parry.
no reason to add samurai as tank, without forget that it will be another sword user in the tank.... when the dps don't even have one and is asked for ages.
ps: plus add another tank, will not solve the trouble of tank, people that hate tanking will still hate it, even if that the jobs they want. a lot of people did try dark knight because they love the jobs, but did stop because they hate tanking.
Not exactly true, while sure some will refuse all together but those who were unsure may pick it up to test it and find they enjoy it. How it was for me with DRK. I leveled PLD/WAR but had no interest in tanking as a full time role until DRK came out.
I don't know how many MMO's you've played so I'm not going to make any assumptions, however, there are lots of different tanking mechanics and unique abilities this game does not have that could be incorporated in to future tanks. Just to name a few:
-damage reflection/counter attacking
-damage absorption
-damage staggering
-rotation built around maintaining a defensive buff
I could go on. But saying that it will be too similar or that those are the only mechanics that can be utilized is patently false.
I thought of the greatest job ever. Gillionare!
He fights by using his gil to summon paid soldiers to do his work for him. His combos cheap, costly, and expensive with each attack does more and cost more gil because it's a higher quality soldier. His weapon is a money bag.

like Khalithar say there are many other mechanics SE can use to make a new tank so thats not a problem.
i dont think tanks have any problem more that the parry and the WAR in the OT throne, and parry go to be fixed soo...
ninja no matter how many ppl denies is a sword user, ninjas can use daggers, knifes, ninjatos and short swords, you have even one named machete, is not eh sword user they want? sure but that dont change short or large a sword is a sword.
and i dont think ppl hate tanking, i know a lot of ppl how love being tank thanks to DRK and WAR 3.0 meta, after all tanking is not so diferent to pure DPS.
