This is the very problem I've been having with my Miqo'te. Due to the jacket i'm using for my style, I am dangerously limited to a few (at best) that don't clip through its collar. It's hard to enjoy a glamour like this, when anything beyond the neck just skewers the jacket. I'd have no problem if they added longer hair styles, it's just hard to find a proper mesh of glamour pieces that look right on her whenever I apply said hair styles. The only ones I've managed to get this to work with is my Black Mage pieces and White Mage pieces. >>If I had to guess I would say that longer hairstyles would have significantly more clipping issues to deal with. We already have some clipping problems with certain gear with the hairstyles we have now, but a longer hairstyle would clip with just about everything. This might be why the developers haven't included any exceptionally long hairstyles yet. I don't mind having to work around clipping issues if it means more variety, but I know there are those who would prefer as little clipping as possible.
If nothing else, we may actually better from implying the need for a project to make the current hair styles more versatile, to adjust to not just the hat, but the body piece as well. If hair styles really are a touchy subject in regards to clipping and the like, they may benefit from doing this sooner rather than later.

Give us guys (all races) this:

Honestly, I'm ok without more longer hairstyles - I hate how the look with some gear options makes it appear as though the hair is floating in suspended animation above the shoulders like an entire can of hairspray was used...

Agreed, we need more longer hair styles, and do something to alleviate the clipping. If games running wire frame graphics on 8-bit 2MHz CPUs with 16KB of RAM in 1984 can handle hidden line removal, then how is it we cannot do a better job with gear/hair interactions in 2016 with multiple tera-flops and 8GB of hyper fast memory under our TV? Either that or create gear models that allow the user to toggle off the huge cowls and hoods that clip hair.
I need those side bangs, or just bangs in general. My character looks weird without bangs to me.I'd love more longer hairstyles too, also something simple, a simple braid with no side bangs or silly things hanging down on your front (like one of the braids we have, which the male version lacks those silly sidebangs). Long hair, nothing fancy, just plain loose hair, simple braids/ponytails etc. Most of the hairstyles are too "worked up" for me imo.

Yes!! we have like what? 5 or 6 long hair styles and 2 of them are locked behind a race. Au ra female with the hime cut and roe.
Guys have it even worst, I think only the male au ra has a true long hair.

All males have one long hairstyle with a headband, while certain races have a slicked back style of relatively long hair, and then Au Ra males have a longer pony tail and another long hairstyle that looks soaked. Personally I would highly prefer the all race style to be without the headband, and I would like a long hair style that didn't look like it was wet. Thankfully I have access to the long ponytail, but I would still love for more long hair options without accessories.

considering this is the publishers that brought us Sephiroths epic hair the hair in this game has been a bit.. disappointing.

I'm good with current hairstyles and tbh I find most of the long ones a bit ugly, alas the clipping issues doesn't help. But I would like to have some messy buns, more braids, longer ponytails, wavy hairstyles and so on. I would ask for more variety in the hairstyles than lengh.
