I like the weapons themselves but I agree the names are kinda boring. No weapon looks better than the deathbringer though.
Says waiting for a nerf like lol, asks if the relic/anima weapons are even trying anymore. Awwww, bless ya'.
Well, some are nice, some less so. I do like the DRK sword for example, but I don't like my own daggers, so I fetched myself the mighty thundersparks for glam instead. But who knows how it'll end up looking?
As for the names...blegh. They're supposed to be living weapons, at least give them a proper name instead of such awkward descriptions. "Hey Anima, what are you called?" "Spurs of the Thorn Prince". I can understand that we can't give them a name ourselves, but come on, that's just lame >.>
I know Sephi's and the Midan wep already exist but damn us Monks have been waiting so long for a "glove" type weapon. *cries*My most recent relic looks like actual gloves now.... with a razor! Once I get it, I'll be able to punch/slice my enemies!
I feel like it'd be too early to make any part of the relic look "wow" or "amazing". I had to wait until Zeta's stage to get something that looks like it'd melt faces. I'm content with waiting until the final stage for this relic.
I'm not a fan of the obvious Soul Calibur reference. Soul Edge is a cool sword, yes... but it doesn't feel like the sort of weapon that the "valiant few [who] take up arms to defend the downtrodden" would wield. Add to it that we act as "sentinels [that] bear no shields declaring their allegiance. Instead, their greatswords act as beacons to guide the meek through darkness." Now... you tell me what you'd run to as a means to escape the corrupt church official who wants to behead you because they're feeling particularly mean tonight. The cross-shaped, softly glowing light of the Deathbringer? Or the Guillotine the Tyrant, a sword that looks like it was ripped from a dragon's jaw and has an eerie blue eye?
While I still like the drk anima, this a brilliant point.I'm not a fan of the obvious Soul Calibur reference. Not the first time SE created a protagonist that uses darkness powers an has a sword with a blue eye.I'm not a fan of the obvious Soul Calibur reference. Couldn't agree less with you. I like every one of them except the monk one.
Bow of the Autarch is the most beautiful BRD relic so far.
I don't get why people call Anima relic. Yes, in practice anima is the 'relic' quest-line, but the weapons themselves are not relics, contextually or narrative. You are not restoring a weapon, you are transferring spirit from host weapon to host weapon (one of which happened to be a replica of an old weapon) as it slowly but surely outgrows them. The main complaint that I see is that they don't look ancient, and that's right! They aren't relics, they are anima weapons, a brand new weapon that is being created by you and Gerolt rather than a weapon that you are resstoring to its former glory; or replicate as the case was.
All in all, the designs make sense if you take into account that they are not relics, they are Anima. They did not exist in any form before you set out to grow the weapon, they are not meant to look ancient or dated, they are a new creation that didn't exist before this point in time. Even... If Monk's looks a tad silly; it's really not that bad.
