Maybe he turns into the Kefka of FF14 and becomes the final boss of 4.0.

I always picture Elidibus as the antagonist type who is performing the wrong things for the right reasons. I am still getting this vibe that we may learn that he is right but we have to stop him because his methods are wrong type of ending for when we finally defeat Elidibus for good in the Storyline then with the truth learned the WoL takes on handing the Truth the right way.

However, this is just me mumballing since a part of me still believe Zodiark is a alternate personailty of Hydaelyn when the Mother Crystal is full of Darkness but when she is full of Light she is Hydaelyn. One side is benevolent and wish for the world where the people is in comfort before it is fully consumed by her thus "becoming one with the Mother Crystal" while another is more agressive, destructive, and wish to devour the world fast not caring about who is suffering as long "he" gets to devour all Aether in the world.

I actually think we won't get a Victory in 3.5 but instead we end 3.X storyline with another defeat but this time the Warrior of Light actually is killed in 3.5/3.55 by the hands of the Warriors of Darkness and during the WoL's Death state we finally get to see the Full Truth Elidibus speaks about through echo visions (AKA a very long cutscene you may need to bring popcorn and a drink to watch) and once the vision ends the WoL wakes up to follow events that set the stage for entering 4.0 area.

Well I did say the WoL wakes up at the end of the visions.

It is one of those "You did die but someone or something dragged you back to life for REASONS" moment.

Speaking of Sabik, in the event that Omega is released from PvP hell, there is the matter of powering him up. As other have noticed Unukalhai and Sabik's came form the same constellation...

On a side note, I wonder if the WoD group come fromt he exact same world as Unukalhai

Personally I'd like to find out Elidibus and Zodiark are not as evil as we think them to be. We've only had the story from Hydaelyn's side, and the Ascians certainly make her words seem true. However, Elidibus is a completely different entity in this equation. He was able to enter the Waking Sands despite the protection it was under by the Blessing of Light. That to me suggests something different entirely. Either there is some kind of ruleset to this conflict, or perhaps Elidibus was an Ascian for Hydaelyn, but has since come to understand Hydaelyn's cause is actually wrong.

I'd like to see the shining veneer Hydaelyn had stripped away to reveal the darker side underneath. We've seen it start with Minfilia. If Elidibus can then expose Zodiark's more benevolent side, I think it'd even things out and open up a more interesting story.

If I remember correctly, the Blessing of Light only protected our world from interactions with transmigratory Ascians (from other worlds). Lahabrea and Elidibus were raised from the Source to begin with, so they had fewer limits. I think it was also implied to apply only to actually physically interacting with things. Nabriales could watch all he wanted, but he couldn't take the staff until the Blessing went down and he possessed someone. I'll double check...

How would he know where the staff was if he couldn't look? Not sure Lahabrea or Elidibus would tell anyone where it is in case they have specific plans for it another could screw up...

If you take all four languages and combine what bits they offer, Nabriales says:
And just how do you plan to stop me, Abandoned of the Light? Without your gifts, you are powerless to do so.

...What, you didn't even know? Hah! Allow me to enlighten you. One who receives the Blessing of the Light is protected; not even this base was an exception. My kind was denied access to your domain. Well, not all of us. Against originals such as Lahabrea and Elidibus, it did quite little; they could come and go as they pleased. But those like me - transmigrated from another world - we were left out. But I need watch from a distance no longer. I've never been the patient type, and with this cane I'll invoke the next Rejoining myself!

Kind of a throw-away line, but when Nabriales realizes you lack the Blessing of Light (in Japanese), he contemplates taking you out before deciding that, seeing as you're no longer a threat, it'd be a waste of time to do anything but claim "that cane white-robes spoke of" since he can use it to circumvent him and Lahabrea. Recall that when Minfilia first notices Elidibus' presence in the Waking Sands, he's admiring Tupsimati and musing to himself.

I'd like to try and join some dots. (Yikes, that takes me back - I've got the itch to do some catch-up reading on the loremongering in here.)

Unulkalhai says he serves a master who has witnessed the end of another Star (read: planet-thingy). His journal on how primal wars destroy worlds is quite sobering. And so, I'd like to step away from Elidibus for now - we'll come back to him later - and consider the only other entity in the game whom we know came from somewhere other than Hydaelyn.

    Midgardsormr.

The space dragon came to this star with seven eggs and settled. Even more importantly, he is tied up with Eorzea's creation myths as a protector of Hydaelyn and, based on our own communications with him, he has a covenant of sorts with Her.

I would speculate that we are staring down the barrel of why Midgardsormr came to Hydaelyn and why he served to protect its flow of aether at Silvertear Falls - it's how his own homeworld was destoyed in aethyric war. So, I'm watching this space for The Keeper of the Lake (Hard), not to mention that this series on the Warring Triad may not be fully wrapped up till well into 4.x.

Coming back to Elidbus, the self-proclaimed Emissary, we know that he has a complicated relationship with just about everyone he interacts with, and chances are he's on a first-name basis with the Father Wyrm already. So he may still be a part of the complicated god-like-being diplomacy circle, but I'm suspecting he won't be involved here due to the reality of Plot Armour - any character who is going to be a big deal in the main scenario can't appear in a sidequest series if anything is going to happen to them.
ie: Cid, Biggs, Wedge, Alphinaud, Allisae, Krile, Y'shtola and Urianger now have indestructible plot armour that would take an Estinien-level rewrite to pierce. Elidibus and the Named Ascians do not and so it is safer to presume that none of them are involved here.
