what happens if you get reported for something

I've been reported by 7 people at once ( a whole FC basically, the tank got his FC m8s to report me because he knew his case was a nonissue). Still to this day nothing has happened.

Well, they do investigate. I had a couple FC mates in the past get thrown into GM jail for harassing RPer's back on Balmung. The number of people reporting probably only has an effect on how quickly the GMs respond to the reports, not the severity of the punishment for whatever they find.

Still, it would be nice if false reports would get some kind of infraction as well.

I don't know either way if they do, or do not pursue false reports. Given their stance on harassment I would guess that they do. But as with everything else, no one but those punished will know since their character is not tagged in any way as being punished.
