What even is Cid's NA accent?

You know as much as I love this game, it's mechanics, and overall systems, some of the voice acting makes me want to crush my left kidney.

Now I point to the elephant in the room and listen to Cid's. Is he trying to do an accent? He really like to hold his "s," and slightly silences some consotance I-I just don't understand, I looked up the VA, he seems pretty experienced, but what is his game.

Its an old magicians trick.

A magician would ask a person a bunch of questions, often pausing and going "mmm" mid sentence. Then outta nowhere they ask the person to write down a letter for the magician to guess, and most of the time its the letter M. This is because all the "mmm" during the conversation planted that letter in the persons mind.

Sid holds the "S" so that when someone asks "so what do you think of Cid?" the first thing most people say is "Sexy."

Wait, he has an accent? I find it hard to pay attention to what he's saying when he's on screen.

Whatever accent he has faded away from my mind long ago as I pretty much from the get-go replaced his voice with The Dude's.
