I just went with what appeals to me, really! I like Catgirls, and I like Blondes, so naturally I went with this combination in the end (Ironically, Xiaomu's hair was originally pink. Hell, even her name was different). Why Seeker over Keeper? Because while the Keepers had fangs, Seekers had both tanned skin and eyes so they got the nod in the end.

I chose Xaela female because it look like a human in connection with a dragon.
Something that i admired about my boyfriend. He was born in year of the dragon and he got a dragon tattoo that represents us being together.
We are still going strong today. He is a miqote male kitty but I love how handsome his character is too

Hi everyone! I wanted to get a feel for Eorzea's demographics, so I made a poll. I posted it on the FFXIV subreddit earlier, but wanted to get a larger sample size. If you'd take a moment to answer I would really appreciate it!

Not to be a buzzkill, but the Developers release census data on this sort of thing during the fan rests if you're interested and they'll have a much more accurate sample size.

Also, can I ask why you chose the character you did? Is it solely for the appearance? Lore? To match a friend?

No Cencus data on this though! I'm a male wildwood. I picked that because I always feel my MMO character is an extension of myself so I make it the same gender I am IRL and Elezen men have a similar build to me as well (and I even keep hair/eye color similar).

My face on the forums is actually my alt, who I made because the idea of a potato paladin appealed to me. (I love how serious his face looks, it makes cutscenes 200% more adorable.)

My main is an female Wildwood Elezen with dorky hair. This is apparently a super unpopular choice - even aside from the dorky hair - but I really like her and have no plans to change. I think they're a cool race and I like that she looks both pretty and slightly odd/non-human.

Also, I'm more Lala-sized in real life, so being tall is a plus. Forget being dainty and feminine, I want to be a giant in a land of tiny catgirls. :P

Their census data doesn't distinguish between active characters, dead accounts, and Super China Hyurian Black Mage Bots.
Case in point: Their data says 4% of characters are Au Ra. And while that may technically be true, a much, much larger fraction of the people you'll see ingame are Au Ra.
For that matter, if you go by character count alone, Lich is apparently the most populated server in the game.

A Redditor going by the name of Mewshimyo wrote a script that polled the entirety of the Lodestone character data and made a census out of that.
