Most memorable NPCs outside of main scenario or sidequests?

Which makes what happened to them in the Calamity (and in ARR) sort of a mean-spirited karma in a sense, but it was still sad.

It is, especially when it feels like you get a sense of how they are taking it, and how they seem to be accepting it, and when they are ready to move on (or at least she is) they are cut down.

I do wonder if she recognizes 1.0 players, particularly those who made it through the story back then, or if she was afflicted with the same memory loss as so many others.
