It was my very first dungeon, Satasha. The entire run was a pain - the tank couldn't hold aggro on more than one mob at all times. Needless to say, whenever I healed I got aggro. It wasn't that big of an issue though, I could heal through the damage from the mobs and was lucky I didn't get too many interrupts so it was fine. Besides, the tank was a sprout, I was a sprout, we're both learning so no problem. That's until we came to the last boss. Said boss spawned one helluvalot of adds and, again needless to say, one heal and I grabbed the aggro. Now, these adds were a lot stronger than the random mobs in the dungeons so I found myself getting my booty kicked. I ran up to the tank, running around him and somehow finding the time to yell "TANK HELP ME" in chat. No response. I die, tank dies, DPS dies, my very first dungeon ends in a pathetic wipe. So I say, "Tank could you please take the adds off of me, I can't heal when they're attacking me."

To which the tank, the gladiator, the big hulking mass of armoured Roegadyn, answers, "We have no tank."

Yet again needless to say, my first dungeon experience in FFXIV wasn't exactly a good one.

Everyday in Midas since the patch trying to get last pieces! Best one was a tank in cuff pulling the 2nd mini boss (I forget the names of em all) yanking it all over the platform and tank busting people I'm the face. After wiping quickly then raging on me for being afk and not healing him, apparently I'm a iq 55 retard who needs to take serious healing lessons from the scholar healer as 'my WTM ass aint healing shit'. Bearing in mind, I was said scholar. And our WTM had DC's. He was kinda hilarious.

That tank's logic just broke my brain

The tank not knowing they are supposed to grab things or how isn't too surprising in Sastasha. Not knowing they are a tank is.

OK so I have a lil rant ive noticed this for a while and it just happened to me and a lot of my healer friend are constantly telling me how they hate tanks who don't use cool downs. So I just ran my lvling roulette and the warrior didn't use a single cool down the whole fight and I on my astro called him out on it multiple times and he never gave a response like he just didn't care. So as person who mains as a tank I apologies for to you healers for my fellow tanks stupidity. this tank literally had all tanks at 60 also (end rant)

We had a level 37 marauder in Qarn today. He kept criticizing the entire group, but when we asked him to stop walking into mobs, he wouldn't. It was just awful, every time we beat a boss, he'd run, but then when a mob came, he'd walk into it. -.- We all kept running into enemies by accident, and he couldn't pull them away, because of the lack of a job. His excuse was honestly even worse, because apparently he hates warrior. He just wants the grandmaster title..

Yeah. I had Sohr Kai in mentor roulette as SCH. Don't usually run expert dungeons w/o FC but you roll the dice with this and take what you get. There was no one new in this dungeon so obviously I got queued as in-need, they said they tanked this before. DRK is minimal geared, still has a Deathbringer. The DPS was pretty decent, and the mob pace started to pick up. At i239 I can stay in cleric stance quite a bit. Eventually I had to get out more than I'm used to with even a newer tank. Every pull they were zapping dry on MP, literally drunk on dark arts outside of being safe, so they lost aggro a few times but nothing serious. Eventually after several piles, I spoke up and said are they ever going to use a cooldown other than living dead? The only reason they used that was because I intentionally let them get low for a lustrate, to see if they know how to handle it, and it never trigged living dead. If they want to pull with the big boys then they need to do their part with a green DPS. But they never said anything, however Shadowskin got used every other pull or so when its off-cooldown. No convo or Shadowwall, but hey at-least I got them thinking.

If you are good with dank knight, are decently geared, you can drop Grit after establishing aggro, pop some good stuff, do good damage, and green healer DPS can still do everything with ease. But that isn't the majority so I don't expect a whole lot with DF.

Now all 60 tanks doesn't mean much alone if you ask me, because they can level in unconventional methods like fates which is the worst thing to do since you never get to "tank". I know a person whom have all three and they couldn't play them worth a darn in full-party content, let alone decently in light party content.

I was running a DPS at the time, but I just had a brayflox longstop run where the tank was a gladiator, so I'd bet it was a horror story for the healer.

Said gladiator never used shield lob, rarely used flash, and certainly not enough to prevent the healer from pulling. I and the other dps made an unspoken vow to prioritize keeping all mobs off the white mage, so the trash mobs weren't absolutely terrible, but it was still pretty unpleasant.

what caused problems was the tank somehow managing to pull new mobs along with him on his returns from a death. Not a wipe, because he'd follow everybody else when that happened. If he died, he'd immediately respawn instead of waiting for a raise, and in taking the shortest route back, aggro the mobs that most groups ignore. This happened twice, once to random mobs, and once to the second boss.

When we got to the final boss, the tank simultaneously failed to grasp that the boss would heal from the poison pools, or that ninjas need to stay behind the boss at all times. Instead, he ran circles around the boss, nearly killed the healer with poison breath, and ignored me telling him to get the boss out of the poison.

The only thing keeping me from going totally ballistic is that everybody else had the green sprout icon, and that has been a mistake I made in the past. After killing the boss, I explained what he had been doing wrong, why he needed a job crystal, and how to get it, so hopefully he'll improve. I did get two player comms from the run.
