Sohr Khai.. Just happened. All is good until we get to that annoying horse boss. We do our thing. A dps gets shoved into the water, gets electrocution and eventually dies. Raise him, he dies on the next set of AoE attacks. Weakness, electrocution, all that mess. Ugh... Raise again. Clouds drop and instead of moving away so we avoid the cloud and the dive bomb at the same time, the tank stands there, making everyone get hit by cloud and the divebombs. Dps don't survive, I run into the water and wipe it. Tank is like.. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?" Your heals suck. You wiped because you suck. I'm i206. I know my heals aren't hitting for 9k a Cure 1, but I'm by no means a scrub. I know what I'm doing. I apologize to the deeps and tell the tank to suck it. Now I'm sitting here with 20 some minutes left of penalty.

Although this strat works just as good in normal mode, even if it's just a simpler DPS check without the tank burden.
Okay, it makes sense for EX (I haven't been in, yet - waiting for more FC to be on/gathered at the same time to do so). I just wish every time someone wants this method, they didn't turn into a complete, screaming, [insert any descriptive word]. :/ Doesn't present the tactic in any sort of good light (nor make the person seem credible) when they're all in caps and talking down to the party.
I just don't even understand the freakouts (from multiple people) and then lack of will to explain why it's better than the 'middle add first' tactic - so, thanks for the explanation (and the no caps! \o/)

Unfortunately, it being DF and NM, I'm more surprised when half the DPS isn't cleaved for the majority of it's time roaming x_x.
I just figured that the less time it's roaming about, the less chance it has to apply debuffs to the DPS - on top of the dodging about

In normal, going for the dragon first is just objectively better. It's like the only risky mechanic in that phase, and tank damage is low enough to allow healer DPS, even if the tank pops no cds.
Sure in ex it's no option due to the debuffs they use, that's specifically designed to make everyone pay attention to that dragon during the whole phase.

No one has to run around like a chicken just because the add does roam free.

The bigger gain is there is two freed tanks in DPS, and two healers are able to contribute DPS as there no healing required for that one.
You have a surprisingly large amount of faith in DF dodging. Believe me, healing this fight, people don't if they don't focus it first.

Tank wearing Level 30 items like "Brand new ring" in Dusk Vigil. He looked like he's new to tanking so I swallowed all my negative thoughts and spammed cure II.Looks like the 2DPS noticed as well. After 3 wipes or so we completed the dungeon. It truly was a healing horror but for a team of strangers,it was a major success lol

Got out of a nightmare Qarn Hard with a tank who didn't use his tank stances or throw any defensive GCDs because "I'm more well geared than you". And he mobbed... BIG. DPSes couldn't kill fast enough, and I was raining Cure 2s on him, with regens and yolodictions. We cleared with a lot of difficulty because the DPSes were new to the dungeon, much fun was had at the cactuar queen boss. And he was a mentor -_-

Nidhogg trial, an inattentive healing partner and greedy BLMs = much raising to be done. The two BLMs spent most of the time tanking the floor because they REFUSED to move out of Ley Lines. Someone should tell them LL doesn't grant invincibility nor regen and the mysterious healing they got is from their imagination -_-

Same here this is so perfect i should macro it on my tank killing spell

    And about the Blm story
As Blm i know which damage any attack do and I should also know (as a healer) what are the healer timing during a fight
If healer are busy keeping the group alive through high raid damage, do not be an asshole and save them some trouble by moving away

As i say to many people your DPS is always higher if you stay alive than if you're tanking the ground
VIT meldind is not for fun for caster...

Think someone needs to teach that mentor what level and ilvl sync is.

I don't know what I did to deserve the karma I got today but I must have been something bad.

I joined a PF to try and clear the last phase of Nidhogg Extreme. During Fang and claw we gad a dps who DCed which in turn led to a wipe as there wasn't enough dps. My co-healer the sch immediately went " Yeah, sorry, this isnt going to work out. You guys should reform." Leader kicked the the DC'd dps and searched for a replacement.

While we were waiting I had the lovely experience of playing 20 questions with the sch. He was asking everything. "How long have you been healing? What healers do you have at 60? what's your most geared healer? Have you done this as sch? can you do whm? I'll go whm and can you go noct sect?"

All I could do was pull my hair in frustration and grit my teeth as I went along with whatever he said. I try my best not to cause problems in any party I joined so I figured I'd suck it up. After finding a dps we tried again. Made it past Fang and Claw, there was a bit of a hiccup with the markers and a dps' hp took a huge dip so I popped essential dignity. At the same time I was tethered so I was looking around for the OT to grab it off me. I'm assuming he took some aoe damage as he reached me with half of his help and didn't use a CD before he took the hit from the tether so he went doooooown. SCH once again claimed we weren't going to do this and chewed me out for apparently not being able to top the tank off. I suppose I could have used Lightspeed but I figured I shouldnt use one of my few emergency CD's so early into the last phase. SCH ended up raging as I told him I couldn't always instant heal someone and quit.

After that I joined a seph ex farm with a headache, I never gave anyone sass or had a bad attitude though. I'm not the type of person who gets angry at the world when something bad happens to me. I really should know better than to try farm parties anymore, I've joined 4 "farm" parties the past few weeks who couldnt beat sephi ONCE. there was a notorious drk in the party who I've ran across before who can't seem to use a single CD for sephi's punches and later managed to cleave me, my cohealer and a dps when he turned him around. Que forward after a few wipes the party turns toxic, everyone is trying to point the finger at everyone else. Then during the phase where we have to stack to get knocked around a dps dies so I swiftcast rezz him and my cohealer decided they didnt feel like moving so they stood in one of the growing green poop bubbles and died. Healer proceeds to rage and say how I'm a "dumbass" for not rezzing him before a dps (like you died AFTER I rezzed him, I can't predict what's gonna happen). Then they pull out the "I beat nidhogg ex" card, and told me how they'd show me how its done.

Sadly it got a bit too much for me to handle with tanks taking damage, and then a few dps overlapped a few towers so unfortunately it was too much damage to heal by myself and we wiped.

Proceed to party getting even more toxic and my whm cohealer is still raging in the back, after one more pull the healer dies as the tank was moving sephi around while the poop bubbles grew.

Needless to say everyone gave up after that. I have the biggest headache from (shamefully) arguing back to the whm and trying to explain to them why I didnt rezz them "first".

Sometimes when I experience frustrations like these It makes me want to take a looooong break from healing
