Lore Incentive Is Ruining Duty Roulette

I hate to make yet another post about the atrocious behavior in this game, because I've made many, but here we go again. I'm training my Astrologian class, and for some reason high leveled tanks keep coming into the lower level dungeons, only for lore. Nothing wrong with that, but they move too fast! I usually have to waste my lightspeed just to give them protect, and stoneskin, and I'm tired of it.

I feel even worse for saying this, but here's how I have decided to handle it.

First step: I will use a macro, so that everyone knows I'm using shield magic. I will also ask for enough time to cast said magic.

Second step: If they do it again, I'll ask them very nicely to stop pulling too fast.

Third step: I'm just going to let them die. If they complain, I'll just tell them that they are refusing to cooperate with their assigned healer. I let them know with a macro, asked them nicely to stop, and yet they still refused.

I want people to know that people are learning their classes in the lower dungeons. They need time for pulls, and to take it at whatever pace the levelers are going for. It is also a period of learning, and that needs to be respected.. I have to ask you so kindly to please stop hurting us all, just because you're desperate for lore, and you want to shave off extra minutes. I get it, dungeoning is tiring, but this is a GAME. You should be enjoying it, but If you really have to make it hard for everyone else, just because you're tired of a dungeon, you should honestly evaluate your mental fatigue, and take a break. The irony is that rushing early dungeons just makes people more likely to wipe, which in turn wastes even more of the time that people seem to value. :l

Anyway, please consider this for the healers, please! Its becoming tedious, nearly every dungeon has been like this for the past few days. </3

So...After protect, why wouldn't you want them to keep chain pulling? If you sprint you can always get shields up before your next pull anyway. If you cannot keep up with a simple Duty Roulette run, well I'm sorry bud, but I don't think this has anything to do with the tank.

Running a dungeon quickly is not toxic behavior. It's handling time as best as one may be able to have. Letting the tank die just because you're frustrated IS toxic.

Best case scenario for you: Your tank slows down and you finish the dungeon in 25 mins.

Worst case scenario for you: Your tank speeds up and you finish the dungeon in 23 mins.

I know what you are going through, last year, I was you. Take this advice mate, let them die. I know, people are going to whine and get angry at me, but doing a dungeon run is a group content and as a group we need to work toghter. If a tank does not wait and just rushes, I ask him in a nice manner to wait and let me buff up the group, if I am inexperienced with healing, I let the group know this. If the tank still rushes and does not listen to a single word, I just do my best and if he dies, he dies.

Tell each tank that you are learning and that they should wait for you to buff them, if they run ahead going LEEROY, what happens next is their fault. If you think tank is making you do extra stuff by rushing, let him know that he/she needs to slow down, if they dont, let them die.

Your 3 steps are good and I would stick with them.

I need a moment to set up, and once that happens its usually stress free, I can't believe that's so hard for people to accept. I even give out a warning, so there's no excuse. I'm trying to be nice.

This is not how you play the game. I can't believe this is a shared sentiment.

The fact that your profile says you're a lvl 60 warrior, says all I need to know.

So you're going in, without even having your abilities on your bar? Basically you're going in unprepared? and then expecting others who are prepared to bend over to your will? Nice. A+

Whenever I go into roulette on tank I always ask full clear or skip clear, then I ask fast or slow. I only take the healers answer because they and I control the flow. If one or the other is off then the whole run becomes not so nice. People should never assume other are comfortable with everything they are used to doing. Now if no one says anything and just ignore me and do things they shouldn't be I just go about my business how I would normally and things get hectic then I pray to see the end asap. ( Both as a tank and a healer)

We all take some time to learn, sadly this is something some players do not understand. I was doing a mentor roulette few days ago and the tank kept chain pull, rushing as fast as possible. Both the tank and me were mentors. The newcomers wanted to explore the whole dungeon, but tank refused, the newcomers wanted to learn, so I explained stuff about the dungeons, I gave them tips about their class and even explained each boss and how to beat them. Tank was not having any of that, he kept rushing and insulting the newcomers for holding the group back.

Sadly before I could start a Vote-Kick, one of the newcomers could not handle it anymore and left. I regret not kicking him out sooner.

Teamwork is requires a team and if one player is not having that, why should the others listen obey him or her? If you ask said person to wait few seconds or go slower, because you are learning or you want to take some extra time to teach newcomers. Isnt that teamwork, to help others learn and improve?
