    I thought Hullbreakerk HM was fine. Why do people hate the first boss? Because you can't tank it? Because that coeurl add will kill the healer if you aren't paying attention and don't kill it quick enough? Because you have to dodge? This fight is different and it's honestly welcome. (You can also beat that boss without a healer.) Did you all really just want another tank n spank?

    I think the dungeon is fine. Linear, sure. But for the purpose of why you're there (help training) it makes sense. Why is Sohr Khai linear? We probably should've spent hours at least looking for Hraesvelgr. It was supposed to be a test and he pretty much just put a bunch of signs that said "I'm this way! Cmon!" ...yeah.

    While this might be a problem from a challenge perspective i personally LOVE IT as a DPS. Why? Because i am SICK AND ****ing tired of endless streams of *pull all the stuff spam AOE*

    This is a very personal opinion but i wanna play my job with all the interesting combos and positionals and what not. Not just spam-aoe-now.

    However you are right there needs to be more challenge involved. I would always prefer less mobs but harder hitting.

    I haven't enjoyed a dungeon since Tam-Tara HM, to be frank. It wasn't even hard or anything, I just loved the atmosphere.

    I like Hullbreaker it's fun. When you run all the roulettes each day I rather enjoy getting this one as opposed to Kohr.

    Because it's pretty much trash mobs, the boss. There's one mechanic to it and that's the Coeurl.

    I don't mind gauntlet type fights (T4 is fantastic), but making them the equivalent of trash mobs with one 'mechanic' isn't very interesting.

    I don't see anything wrong with Hullbreaker HM. I'm sorry (not sorry) that the dungeon allows people to play their designated roles due to the gates between monsters. The first boss encounter is a nice change of pace (and don't act like gauntlets haven't been used as boss encounters in other games). Ymir's only really a pest when it comes to timing casts and Wildfire. While Mistbeard's not quite as harrowing as Hraesvelgr, he does put up a decent fight.

    To the thread starter: Not every aspect of XIV needs to be Alexander Savage.

    Hullbreaker is simple good fun. Love the music for it and then beating the crap out of some snooty pirate chicks and even giving Rhiki her comeuppance, then you get to smack around Mistbeard, which was legit cool if you're into Limsa lore. Where it lacks difficulty you get some good energy and character. Want more.

    To me, it's less about the linearity or gating, and just the...overall dungeon in general. The environment is bland and doesn't stand out, neither does the music (people say its from 1.0, but I haven't played 1.0 so the nostalgia value isn't there, and it straight up doesn't fit the theming, and it certainly doesn't get me pumped up). The first "boss" is...meh. There's no interesting mechanics aside from aoes that hurt my turret anyway. The second boss has mechanics that mostly serve to delay melee's dps for all the wrong reasons, and the overall pacing for the final boss is just really, really slow even if you weren't overgeared for it.

    I would have preferred a more fast paced, dodge-crazy dungeon. That's what people need training in... Dodging!

    Basically, the whole dungeon from start to finish should have been spawning a hectic amount of mobs like in the 1st Boss.
    No HP Sponges. Just a lot of mobs with a lot of things to avoid or burn down easily but fast, with a lot of moving around and coordination with the party rather than the tank just grabbing them into one big clump.
    Constantly keeping us on our toes from start to finish would have been fun.
    I'm tired of pulls of two or three mobs into clumps then burning down with AoEs
    I'm also tired of mobs just sitting in dungeons waiting. Why cant they hunt us down D:

    Also, ascending the hill where all the gorillas are felt like there should have been a barrel or two rolling down along with some jump mechanics >.>

    The Ymir portion just felt... out of place?
